  • I'm so glad that when you played the flutes, you didn't play that Beatles track!

  • This girl rules!

  • This chick smells her own farts. I know it.

  • A woman standing in front of a load of synthesizers = Sexiest thing i've ever seen.

  • I'm in love. With her.

  • Awsome sound! I love this instrument, thanks for making the vid.

  • Let me take you down cause I'm going soon.... I love the sound of this thing!!!

  • Ass?

  • STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER ! :D

  • I want.

  • What is the name of the instrument back her ?

  • @stakerboy You think at theremin or the (very) huge synthesizer? :)

  • Prog rock staple of awesome

  • Hermoso instrumento y chica. *-*

  • sweet jesus this is great...

  • I actually played Paul Mcartney's Mellotron in Oxford (UK) a few years ago in a service centre... when i bought a Triton Keyboard Workstation.., and its not at all like the new ones.. they had BIG reels of tape loops that had to be loaded. I will never forget playing "Strawberry fields forever" on the original Beatles Mellotron :-) Ahhhh,,, My claim to fame he he ...

  • Nice!

  • Sweet LITTLE thing?!! I want one so bad! Tara, you ROCK!

  • It needs choir!

  • Does she come with it?

I'll need someone to... fix the cable...

  • The moment you hit the keys on flute setting I instantly shrieked "Strawberry Fields!" Kinda embarrassing even when I'm all alone. =)

  • Each key has an individually pre-recorded sound... I have no idea whats more analog then that...

  • the cello patch on low is amazing.

  • Lovely girl, and an instrument to match:-)

  • I have one listed on eBay! 7-9-2011

  • At the time when the old one was made, this had to be revolutionary. Having a huge selction of sounds and samples to be played back by the user was a treat.

  • have they sorted out the pitch abberation on this new version? I read an interview with JohnPaul Jones where he said the Mellotron sounded great but in a gig under hot lights the tapes would stretch and knock out the pitch.

I guess that's what the pitch knob is for?

  • OK, yes, I love the Mellotron and Tara has some beautiful videos of her on some sweet analog synths. Of the three or four people who pointed out the Theremin in the corner nobody mentioned that the volume antenae on the left of the Theremin is on backwards. Anyone else catch that?

  • I always preferred having the choir sound over the cello sound. For my highest key, I have a tape consisting of a gong, a laughtrack, and a group applause sound. The pitch bend is so eerie when used with the choir and a tad of echo. Plus, running a 'tron through a Leslie with four channel stereo miking was another one of my tricks that enhanced this beautiful instrument.

  • did anyone else hear the continuing story of bungalow bill from 3:18 --- 3:39 lol

  • Awww she's so lovely :) Tara is quite attractive too!

  • is this a real magnetic tape mellotron or a digital recreation?

  • i watched to the end the whole video expecting her to eventually fuck it or get fucked on top of it.

  • young lady may be! much peace love n music.

  • dear god.... pray tell, who is that astounding beauty behind the keys and how would a person like myself go about attempting to ever actually know and or jam with her?? mellotron is just about one of the most nostalgic, gorgeous sounding famous instruments of the past several decades and i've been trying to figure out how to get my mitts on at least an emulation for computer for cheap to free for a while now... thank you for this video on xmas. much appreciated, whomever the doe-eyed charming

  • what model is this? please someone answer.

  • Where is this kind keyboadr used ?

  • Hey, that looks like Rogers place !

  • awesome!

  • Yes, this is such a great instrument! Thanks Tara for showing it off.

  • sounds fucking amazing

  • I never seen a nice girl playing the mellotron

  • @davidtheguitarman

So you don't know ANEKDOTEN from Sweden?!

  • @Noilliram i love that band, so good.

  • Comment removed

  • fuck tht note she played was robyns song! i only just got tht lol..

  • Mine's a little droopy; one of the survivors of roadie abuse; temperature, humidity and voltage fluctuations--and sadly and most recently--neglect. But soooo very cool that I wouldn't part wth it for the world.

  • So sexy and beautiful and the Mellotron's not bad either ;-)

A total babe playing an amazing machine, why don't all woman love synths?

  • Every musicians dream. A Sweet little Mellotron, played by a Sweet little Tara Busch

  • this is pure grace

  • i could watch this woman playing that thing all day long

  • like top gear for electronica...arp next please...then a moog :)

  • this is one of my favorite videos, love those sounds.

  • Great sounding tron and sassy little lady too - tnx!

  • ratatat much?

  • This Mellotron is real snobbery! Nowadays one can just have its sound loaded to any surface, what's the point of having the very expensive, useless furniture? One of my friends' mom made a song (free, free...) and she put a mellotron in it and it was, you see, from her hubby's basement, and it was Soooo important that they had the "furniture" blabla...I agree the SOUND is perfectly magical though (texture, old flavour, lofi...) but that's not the point when snobbing about the "object"

  • Nice legs :P And mellotron too :D

  • I have been messing around with Moogs, Arps & Mellotrons since the early 70s. I actually sent my 400D to the landfill because my brand new MemoryMoog was going to replace it. Didn't know how stupid that would be until thirty years later... I live in Asheville, NC where Bob Moog lived (may he rest in peace)and will frequent the museum when it is finished. I love what Tara does in her music because it is not only refreshingly different, it is absolutely beautiful. Hang in there girl...

  • how much are these nowadays?

  • sounds like early king crimson

  • I love the mellotron.

    Cute girl btw ;-)

  • Nice job! More of Tara's Bush any time

  • theremin is better

  • @nastydr0 ehm no..

  • no strawberry feilds forever?

  • is it just me or is there an explosion of male to female transsexuals lately? watch this video carefully.

  • Is it just me or is there an explosion of assholes who have no forum for their crap in real life so they comment on videos all the time?

  • Is it just me or is there an explosion of douchebag rejoinders?

  • actually i'm president of a "call out a tranny" club that meets every thursday. my forum is usually on the subject of "a sausage by any other name is not a taco"

  • @ajdicks She's all XX.

What the hell are you on about?

  • 2:10 - 2:30 , did you need to pee pee ?

  • Yummy And talented!

  • finally ive found a women that understands my synth addiction

  • that Cello sound is amazing. I would kill for a Mellotron like this

  • Yes, but would you maim?

  • Is that an offer? :)

  • Was that an acceptance?

  • beatles?

  • Betles, Pink Floyd, Genesis,David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, etc...

  • The mellotron only had three patches?! they are great patches and software has spoiled us

  • @weaponEX they had over 100 you could change out the tapes, but these are a couple of the more famous ones, a lot of the tapes had stupid random noises like trains and cars that were used by radio stations for sound effects, but these are marvelous instruments!

  • @weaponEX The M Tron Pro is off the chain!

  • Lol, what a hippy.

  • The sound you can hear at 1:34, the tape motor (I guess) changing to a slower RPM count sounds awesome.

  • Sexy.

  • @AlmostClassic

    and girl is nice too

  • @AlmostClassic Isn't she? ;)

  • I love the sheer simplicity of it. A beautiful instrument.

  • That cello sounds amazing

  • How did this discussion end up here? Wow. Even people posting about old keyboards are bitter, hateful, and disturbed?

It's amazing that digital sampling sometimes still seems to have not caught up to the crispness and authenticity of 45-year-old analog machines like the Mellotron. Never have I heard a cello that sounded that much like a cello (not even in the 8 years I played one ;) ).

  • Because the Mellotron has a real recorded chello onto a tape... ;) There are numerous of massive sample packs of real instruments recorded, which you feed into a sampler (Kontakt for instance) and it sounds very authentic...

  • I just love erudite women...

  • And here I thought porn wasn't allowed on Youtube.

  • It's in your mind. Chop your head of and the porn is gone. It's obviously a one track mind anyway so you can't have much use for it, dick head.

goog job, Tara! I like the pitch bend, better than any modern keyboard.

  • You must be new to the internet.

  • sexy...

  • tara you're awesome!

  • the flute sounds exactly as the flutes in strawberry field

  • why would you say such a thing?

  • LS, buddy. you have low self-esteem and your parents obviously didn't care too much for you. what a sad, sad retard.

  • Magic keyboard, Magic Girl, Magic sound !!!!

  • ... and a magic dress :)

  • Just play it. already ...you know you want to...the opening phrase to Strawberry Fields Forever..

  • such a beautiful instrument such a beautiful girl

  • Thats my kind of woman. Musician & Plays classic Synthesizers and other instruments. Yeah Tara!

  • Only the cello sounded good 2 me. Honestly, all the nostalgia hype aside...I mean, c'mon, now...

how much would it cost, after all (I have a feeling that I will fall off my chair once U tell me)?

  • considering your taste in tones, i already think i probably wouldn't like your music. and i like your spam even less.

  • :-( mwhaw mwhaw mwhah

  • :-( mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah

  • The Mellotron is an instrument that God himself invented, and he brought to our planet earth to share it's haunting beauty with us so, have some respect for the instrument.......

  • you re absolutely right !

  • wonderfull (both)

  • I agree with thelatedavidsmith. But instead, marry ME! And then when you divorce me, leave me the Mellotron.

  • 1:15

    marry me

  • I like the cello and flute settings the most.

  • Tara i Love you , Make me a Baby!!

  • Mellotron? More like a time machine - took me back 40 years. What a gorgeous sound. Most excellent!

  • i want to live in that room your in!

  • sexy tara sexy mellotron.

  • wow flute setting sounds like the intro "does he love you" by rilo kiley...

  • Hi Tara. You both are cute, be it in a different context.

  • actually it should sound old^^

  • ....Too bad it's like 7 grand :(

  • cool - great sounds - just like original - thanks

  • love the mellotron!

  • No voice application?! NOOO!

  • Sounds like the beginning of Strawberry Fields.

  • it is!

  • Paul McCartney played a mellotron on Strawberry Fields for the flute sounds.

  • Yeah that's sounds exactly like the beggining of it !

  • What happens to the instruments' transients when the loop goes round 2 or more times. (or are the recordings transient-free)?

  • The tape doesn't loop. That's why you only get eight seconds. It rewinds by means of weighted rollers. You can see this when they show the tapes. The tapes get shorter and then longer.

  • Thanks.

  • My pleasure. I actually owned a Mellotron 400 for about four years. Lots of fun, but VERY expensive. It had Cello, 3 Violins and 8 voice choir.

  • OMFG. I am in awe. Freakin' SWEET!!

  • A nice girl with a nice instrument...what a couple! ;)

    MKVI

  • marry me!

  • I used to have the exact same in '76. Now I just use the Plugin!! Saves carryng it around. LOL!

  • very beautiful. thy still makem.

  • There is Mellotron and There is God

  • Nice demo. It sounds very pastoral. The mellotron is one of the earliest known sampler-synthesisers.

  • WOW!

  • OMG, are these ARP's in the background ??

    They look cool !

  • Not sure, but that's definitely a theremin in the corner,

  • She is seriously spaced out. Nice vid, but whats this about a 'new' mellotron? it looks like the old one to me, must be an exact mechanical duplicate! Expensive...

  • oh man, as soon as I have enough money, you can bet I'll have one, I'd prefer the classic M400, but if can't find one, I'll have a new one... you can bet.

btw, are those big synth modules by analogue systems?

  • 8 voice choir I meant

  • oh what a pity the new model doesn't have the 8-voice-chorus as the m400...

  • i had 8 voice on mine.. you can order whatever tapes you want from markus..

  • I've always had respect for this instrument. Actually it's my favorite. The cello tape makes my skin crawl. It's obviously not made to be pointed out when used in a band or something. But played in the background properly can create an atmosphere of a whole orchestra. Amazing. There is no other keyboard like it.

Thank you very much for the presentation Tara!

  • only 3 voices? suprising because the M-Tron plugin has about 120 (what are the other 117 authentically modeled after then?)

I don't know much about Mellotrons, except i'm almost disappointed that the sounds are so realistic//

  • There are around 5 famous models of the mellotron. Every single one had it's own type of voice recordings. This is the famous M400 if I'm not mistaking. It depends on which voices you put in. A can stand for all other sounds...Brass for instance. It was a matter of choice which sounds you would use. Strings were most popular and flutes. Then you could choose from many more. Not all of them were good as those.

  • Why did that get thumbs down?

  • well then you just dont get the mellotron then.. ITs perfect the way it is..

  • omg those things must have taking a long time to make "each key controls an 8 second analogue tape" talk about old school, but they make such lovely rich tones. these are hard to find. lucky tara!

  • these are the new ones made in Germany

  • sweeden

  • Mellotron going lower = going slower :-)

  • I love The mellotron.

    U are so Cute.!!

    Cheers from Chile

  • That was hot.

    So was the mellotron.

  • Good demo of a fabulous instrument.

I've always thought of the mellotron as spookily better than the context in which it's used - in a good way. To me, it sounds like Gerry Anderson's marionettes playing strings on a carnival fair organ. And that's spooky enough for me. I still want one.

  • this is new??? how much?

  • Oh Tara, you are a darling, would love to see your Busch!!

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • props on showing the internals. I think I actually understand how this thing works now...very interesting instrument

  • ganske interessant, intelligent ung dame..;;)

  • that was just beautiful

  • please. Ms Busch is a sexy synth queen.

  • hahahaha, your funny

  • i love her!!!

    is my tale´s princes!!!

  • sehr interressante, inteligente junge Dame.. ;;)

  • ganske interessant, intelligent ung dame.. ;;)

  • oh my god...

this video has all the things i love...

    Mellotron and a beautiful girl...
