Totally! Crosby is a great player at making the defense look SO stupid. The Caps Defense played very poorly through the first two periods, but stepped it up. Ovechkin is unreal when he plays, but Crosby can really make a great dent in a defense with his skill. I, not to rub it in, loved Ovie's hat--trick though (God that guy is a freak). All around a very emotional, physical, and exciting game. You got to love this Caps-Pens rivalry!

Having Fleury start for team canada woudln't be such a bad thing at all. Fleury is always at his best in the big games. Luongo is a known choker in big games, and Brodeur's series against the Hurricanes show he's going downhill. The only reason the Red Wings had more power-plays in the whole series was because of game 5 when the Penguins took 50 billion penalties because they knew the game was lost anyway .They had 6 men on the ice for 30 seconds at one point while the Wings bench was screaming their heads off for a call and banging their sticks on the boards. Not to mention how bad the Wings got robbed in game 2 in the ducks series.

I've watched this over and over again (never gets old) but this is the 1st time I actually noticed that with 16 seconds to go, Staal wins not 1 but 2 clean face-offs in a row and they blow both of them dead. You can clearly hear Jordan yelling WTF! after the 2nd one. Finally they allow the 3rd one, which of course the Red Wings won setting up that final scramble. Fleury's 2 huge saves at the end probably never would have happened if they had allowed any one of those 2 face-off wins by Staal.

He made some mistakes in the first couple of games (and totally blew in game 5), but the Pens weren't going to win games 1 and 2 by only being able to score one goal. That was a great conclusion to a great final series. However, the biggest moment was somewhat lacking in that Bob Cole was not there to put his signature stamp on it. God bless Jim Hughson but the guy just can't bring a degree of urgency to THE moment like the best can. He's a competent man but he just does not deserve to hold the number one chair for HNIC. Good call on that one, yes, I have heard (and watched when I had cable and the CBC until 1997) Bob Cole put that signature stamp on many Cup Finals, and while Jim Hughson is good, he just doesn't hold a candle the the greats of years past like Bob Cole, Dan Kelly, Dick Irvin, and Danny Gallivan. As the years have gone by Bob Cole has fallen a little behind the play. In Canada, HNIC has taken alot of grief from critics about not developing another anchor to take over for Cole. This year was the first time since 86 that I can remember someone other than Cole called the finals for CBC. A couple of years ago the brass at CBC decided to not offer their number two voice, Chris Cuthbert, a contract. Instead, they brought in Hughson to fill the role. A huge mistake in my opinion.
