  • We walked up to the Hornli Hutte in August 2009. There we met an American climber who had just come down, and he said he was terrified every step of the way - at no point was there a ledge or crack where you could sit in and feel safe, only the extremely steep exposed slope for the full 8hr climb and descent......

  • @Blewyn What route did this man take? I took the Hornli ridge and there were plenty of places to rest, there is even a hut just above 4000 meters.

  • Now THAT is an incredible mountain! It is so beautiful, awesome and just a monster of a peak when you look up at it from the Hornlihut. Even more amazing to see it from this perspective of looking down! No wonder so many people have died trying to climb it!

  • Wow! I climbed it in August 2003: some dude flew past at the time in a copter: would LOVE to have a copy of any of his fiml!!

  • Good Luck !

  • looks good, cant wait to do it, by the hornli route, (that the first ridge in view)
