  • The only part which seems wrong is that driving away, Hickock and Smith were hardly telling themselves they committed a perfect crime since they made away with only a radio and $50, in exchange for committing four murders.

  • Actually, 4LCreww IS correct. I read the book also, I have it at hand if you need the page numbers as reference. The bad checks WERE written, and part of what helped them undo their anonymity related to this crime.

  • @starrfisher Hot Paper is basically a bad check. Basically what he would do is he'd write the check for what ever he was "buying" but make the check larger than what the cost was. The cashier would then( because they didnt have the technlogy we have now) accept the check and give him his items and the extra money he wrote in this check. Hope that helps.
