  • ive got a can of carburetor cleaner. will this do the same thing or should i get the throttle body cleaner

  • @DonutMan181 throttle cleaner works best.

  • Hey snotty my car only idles poorly when cold what could be the problem.. thanks

  • @hollywoodboy1994 try everything in this video, and also check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold system, they often do that.

  • Reminds me of Ozzy Ozborn

  • Where do you live cuz I think it would be better if i just take my car to you :)

  • @Robdee999 houston texas, I work M-F

  • @scottykilmer Well that sucks I just came from Louisiana. I guess I have to take my car to one of these shady dealers who might mess my car up just because they don't care.

  • I have a 1987 Ford f250 with a 302, it idles real high, and then will cut out, when im at a stop light, then when im driving its fine, what should I do

  • @holdenf91 often vacuum leaks, try my video "finding vacuum leaks with a cigar. and check around the intake manifold and all rubber vacum lines.

  • Hi Scotty, I hope you can help. I have a 1993 F150 with the 5.0L EFI, and I am having issues...FIRST: When I start it almost immediately it"surges" between 500rpms and 1000 rpm and if I put it in drive OR reverse, it stalls.Same thing if I come to a stop sign or light. If i keep my foot on the break and gas it stumbles really bad so i have to put it in neutral till I am ready to move. I have replaced the cap.rotor, plugs and wires.I also changed the trans filter and gasket,etc...2500 rpms (cont)

  • before it shifts into 3rd and I have to left my foot off the gas a bit. This is a real drag !! I broke a GOLDEN RULE, i bought it used @ a car dealer and AS IS ASSUMING all was fine....so now after removing my boot from my arse...I realize I am stuck with this truck and I want it running, the body is SOLID,re-painted nice tires,a slight lift on it.SO anyways ANY SUGGESTIONS??PLEASE HELP and THANK YOU. :)

  • @itstherealmeagain often vacuum leaks on the intake manifold, check that first.

  • r u on crack??

  • @whatchain No, but I get up at the crack of dawn. You comment is very unoriginal though, work on better material if you wish to be funny.

  • @scottykilmer Over a week has passed since I cleaned my Camry and it still shakes when idle in drive. And if I take off to fast it doesn't go. it stutters really badly and then jerks and starts going. In the video you cleaned a sensor and I didn't. I have a 94 Toyota camry. Do i need to clean a sensor?? Ran perfectly fine before I cleaned the throttle.

  • @googie109 you have to clean it thoroughly, cause if you clean just part of it, crud can migrate and cause problems further down. I would advise removing the whole throttle and cleaning it all off the car, and also cleaning all the sensors inside it.

  • @googie109

I think I had the same problem in my Ranger, and my CRX. From personal experience, there are two things that could have happened to your car. First, I would check to make sure there are no loose vacuum hoses. If you don't find any loose vacuum hoses, replace your plugs and wires. That's what I did and it ran like brand new.

  • @googie109 You may also want to replace your fuel filter. Could be the culprit of a clogged filter.

  • My mother has a 95 Ford Contour that vibrates violently when idling in drive. If you give it even a little gas, it stops, and it doesn't do it in park or neutral. She can't afford to have it looked at, so I was wondering if from that you could give any insight about possible issues. (maybe something I could fix myself, since I know a guy with a lift and together we've likely got all the necessary tools)

  • @desertfox2020 you'd seen this video, try all those fixes. And realize that old thing is notorious for vacuum leaks running off the intake manifold.

  • @scottykilmer Thanks, I will be trying what you did in the video and I only asked because its symptoms aren't what you described in the beginning. I thought there might be a problem with the transmission or torque converter.

  • Scotty I own a z24 2001 Cavalier and it is manual and When it sits in nutural or when I push my clutch in my RPM's rev high and when I put it in gear it dies down. I was wondering if cleaning my Throttle And IAC Valve would resolve my issue. If not is there any adjustments to my throttle idle or something to take down the reving ? Please someone if anyone knows anything lend me a hand. Thanks alot !

  • @MegaXxChristopherxX No adjustments on modern cars, try this, and also try "finding vacuum leaks with a cigar" those babies are notorious for intake manifold gasket vacuum leaks

  • Hi Scotty, I Have a Daihatsu Hijet van 1991 Carburated and manual choke!!! when i start it it gets idles rough few times and when i drive it it mises when cold only even when i choke it!! I checked the sparkplugs and looked good and not fouled!! also i replaced spark plugs and gaped them according to owners manual and even replaced spark plug wires and cleaned the rotor and distributor cap!! I also used spray to clean carburator throttle plate and choke! Any help Apreciated Thanks

  • @MrFranagiu Probably time for a new carburetor, that thing's ancient. That's the first thing i do on an old thing like that running that way.

  • Thanks for the videos! So I used throttle cleaner but didn't recall the advice you gave on letting it dry for 30 minutes. As you could guess, my truck wouldn't start. After some basic googling, the fix was to have one person attempt to start the car while I held the throttle fully open. This caused a clear flood mode and the engine soared to life. And my idle issue was cleared up, too :) All of this to ask... are you familiar with this problem and was it the right course of action? Thanks!

  • @yoonixstl yes, you did the right thing after doing the wrong thing (NOT WAITING)

  • i did replaced the fuel cap and the light is stll on and its really bugging thinkin that smething is wrong with the truck, anyway to figure out the problem?

  • @xHockeyBenson finding evap system leaks requires a dealer level scan computer and a smoke machine. Live with it if it runs OK, or open up your wallet .

  • Hey Scotty, I was wondering what your professional opinion on Seafoam is? I have used it to fix idle problems and hesitation..

  • @mikemilenko50187 it's an ok cleaner, but i find lacquer thinner works better.

  • @scottykilmer Thanks for the reply Scotty! Good to know, seafoam is not cheap!

  • I have a 1994 Thunderbird 3.8 v6 146,355 miles and the oil smells like gas it idles really rough until i rev it a few times. While I am driving it at normal speeds it jerks like its gonna die and the rpm gauge bounces up and down. While idling it has a rough spot and once and awhile it will stall while driving and wont start for like 20 minutes I also noticed it seems gutless when trying to pass cars on the freeway like it revs really high when shifting at high speeds. Any ideas?

  • @ThePatriotsfan01 oil smelling like gas means the engine is running super rich and leaking gas into the oil. check the fuel pressure regulator and fuel injectors for leaks first.

  • Hey scotty ,fist thing I would like to say is that you do a great job doing the videos!! keep them coming, also I had to do the same thing to my 1996 Honda civic but it was the icv all I used was motormaster carb cleaner and it worked great! Looking forward to watching more videos!!!!!

  • what is the diference between STP "Carb cleaner" that i know has acetone... is STP "throttle

    body and air intake cleaner"?

  • @authmaax they never tell you what's inside cleaners, trade secrets. So I have no idea.

  • 1986 nissan maxima changed throttle position sensor but now the car wont start i put the gas peadle to the floor takes a while but it starts please help

  • @dianemarie909 well, put your old one back on, cause if you bought a cheap aftermarket sensor, they often do that. Had it happen to me, and now I only use factory oem ones.

  • hi scotty, my nissan primera p11 144 runs well but when i come to a stop it shakes for a split second once every 7-10 seconds. I cleaned out the air mass valve and throttle body which weren't really that dirty but it hasn't changed it at. could it be the air control valve or anything else u can think of ?. cheers.

  • @EbonixD tons of things can do that. Often vacuum leaks, try my video "finding vacuum leaks with a cigar"

  • @scottykilmer thanks, i'll try it hopefully it'll be just that cos i'll only be put back by the price of a cigar :) , i'm dreading the thoughts of it being new engine mounts and so on.

  • Hi scotty, my '02 accord shakin alot when its at idles or at the stop signs. Is that the idle air control valve or motor mounts?? Thank you

  • @ZXiPoZ could be either, jack up the engine and see if the mounts are bad first, if not, try all this in the video first. Often cleaning fixes em I rarely change honda iac valves.

  • @scottykilmer so do you know where the iac located at??

  • @ZXiPoZ hiding on the throttle assembly, you really have to remove the whole assembly to remove it, a bad design for fixing

  • @scottykilmer appreciate that, sir

  • i have an 2000 audi tt 1.8t quattro, my car has problem with cold start,if the engine is warm then no problem. bettry is fine, spark plugs are new, please help me. Thank you

  • @zpflwjvm often dirty fuel injectors, try my video "how to clean fuel injectors on your car" and have that done.

  • @scottykilmer can i just add some liquid into tank that cleans the injector, for example LIQUI MOLY injection cleaner?

  • @zpflwjvm that is a much weaker treatment, often does nothing.

  • i have a carbureted 1981 camaro thats is doing this, i changed the fuel pump (mechanical) and filter, spark plugs and wires, replaced the cat and rebuilt the carb but it is still doing it HELP

  • @MrBrey1 you may not have "rebuilt" the carb right. Me, on those old things, i throw the carbs away and put on a brand new edelbrock, that always works.

  • @scottykilmer we figured it out. it was running really rich in addition to the choke not functioning. but an edelbrock isnt really worth it on a v6 (you would have to wish me luck trying to find a 4bbl intake for a v6 also) ... saving the new holley 650 for the freshly built 350 ;)

  • i have sport trac 01 and my check engine and fuel cap light came on and i ran the code PO457 and i dont know what it mean, could you help me out? Thanks you

  • @xHockeyBenson replace the fuel cap and pray that fixes it all.

  • Scotty a 97 chevy impala, the car is idling slow, then very fast, what could be the cause of that i know its the brain telling it to idle that way , where should i start? thanks friend

  • @gmcarfreak often intake manifoldgasket leaks on that baby.

  • Comment removed

  • hey, would a bad idle air valve cause a loud buzzing sound when in idle? it started off being a rare incident but now its happening frequently and its loud enough for other cars to hear. It only happens when in idle and occasionally when in reverse. im trying to decide whether or not i have to order one

  • @TheRareGoomba yep, they do that all the time, espeically in fords

  • HEY Is it safe to do an oil change with diesel i herd you can drain the oil put disiel in it run for 15 min drain the replace filter and oil

  • @wtl1964 you can put 1 quart of it in the engine oil, then idle it, then change it, yes. engine oil flushes are mainly diesel if you buy em at the store in a can.

  • hey scotty, I have a 96chevrolet 5.0 ,and its hard to start, only in the mornings specially when is cold.it ill crank like 5 times, and then starts ,and once is hot it starts right away ,I have changed the spark plugs ,distributor cap,and rotor, and still does it.any suggestions please help!!! i appreciate it..!!

  • @MrVictor010581 Try thise process in the video, often dirty clogged injectors

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Fuel Injection, and Carb cleaner gas treatments like the same as this method but more-so overtime, and gradually cleaning out the gunk whereas this vid is the "all at once/hands-on" approach?

  • @Cloudx7strife they are diluted in the gas tank, so work much poorer than this direct method.

  • @scottykilmer Right which is why they urge you to do it "every other fill-up" that's what I thought. Thx for all the info but I just wrecked the car so nvm =,(

  • can you do a tutotial on how to clean the fuel injectors without removing the injectors in a 1997 honda civic, four door, stick shift. Please. Jiffy lube wants to charge me $80, so i would like to do it my self. thanks!

  • @77raymondt watch my video "how to clean fuel injectors on your car" to do it right. But, alas, the machine and an air compressor is needed, hence 80 bucks is a deal if they use such a machine.

  • if i cant find the air cleaner what else could i use

  • @scottykilmer So I cleaned out only my throttle plate body with the cleaner but now it runs rough (even after 2 days) When I'm stopped, the RPM's drop a little and when I floor it from 0-20, it is very hesitant and almost does nothing. Will this eventually go away? My car is a 1994 Toyota Camry

  • @googie109 It can take a while for a computer to get used to a new throttle position IF the old one was really dirty and sat up higher. I'd give it at least a week.

  • @scottykilmer My '94 car has an "Idle re-learn" procedure, involving disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it and following the procedure. Would that be true of a Toyota? It amounts to first start after reconnection and put it in gear with foot on the brake and sitting there for ten minutes or until the car thoroughly warms up, being careful not to overheat the car. Then turn car off, wait several seconds and turn car on again and repeat the procedure.

  • Also I noticed that when I flip the headlights on the battery power drops considerably (2 to 3 notches) as if it were also causing the car to stall.

  • @Cloudx7strife try all this stuff, but first check the alternator and battery, if either or both are low it will do that. Places like auto zone check em free.

  • @scottykilmer Ok Scotty I got the battery, and alternater tested. Battery needed charging, and alternater passed. It died at my first stop leaving AutoZone, lol. So I'm going to get some of that cleaner, and start taking bolts loose.

  • Hey Scotty I liked the troubleshooting. I have a 93 2.3L mustang that's doing something similar to that. The RPMs drop extremely low, and the car will stall out at nearly every light unless I pop it into neutral and rev to keep the RPMs up. I'm guessing 300-400 rpms at a stop. It's been doing this off and on, and will sometimes come out of it in it's own. The whole car rattles, and I have to floor it (especially uphill) to get anywhere until it comes out of it. Can you help me out here, please?

  • Hi Scotty, i have a 2005 trailblazer and once in a while when my cars stoped the rpms will dip down and all the lights will dim, and last week when i was running the heater it had vary low power, any idea how to fix this?

  • I have a problem that has stumped me badly. I have a 1994 Lexus es300 and what will happen is when I start up the car it will just keep turning over eventually start and then several seconds later stalls out. I would repeat that about 3 or 4 times then it will stay running until you rev it up and its got a really bad hesitation and when you get to a certain rpm and will sputter out. Any advice?

  • @n3419 try my video "how to clean fuel injectors on your car" on that old thing they often carbon up

  • @scottykilmer I already tried that its a bigger problem

  • Hey Scotty, I have a '91 dodge stealth. Sometimes when I stop the RPMs dip extremely low but catches it's self before it dies, then returns back to normal RPMs Could this be because of bad PCV hose or valve?

  • @halo2rk could be, but could be any in this video, or a vacuum leak. Often vacuum leaks on that modell.

  • Listen out for the eagles at 0:40

  • Hi Scotty i have a 07 Toyota Camry 63k and it sometimes it idels rough for 1-2sec in a stop with A/C On then the rpm goes a little higher and it dosent vibrate anymore is this normal?

  • @TheThurak13 na, try my video "how to fix a car that idles poorly" may just need cleaning.

  • Scotty thought id post this question here as it would be in the right place

I have 2002 (52) UK spec 1.6 LX Ford Focus

Most of the time the car will start and run fine but then every now again it decides to struggle to start, then sometimes it'll decide to misfire a little, other times it'll idle poorly (the revs jump up and down) and then sometimes itll refuse to start at all not even turning over

Its got to be something electrical but where would you start?

  • @voiceofreason2008 I'd load test the battery and alternator first, could just be a weak battery.

  • @scottykilmer ill try that scotty thanks for your insight, i personally think its the coil pack but ill update you in time

  • @scottykilmer hi scotty, want the battery or the alternator it was the HT Leads and spark plugs

I was going to try a new coil pack but couldnt one but was going to replace the leads and plugs as par for te course anyway

  • Hey Scotty, I was just wondering. Can I use a carburetor cleaner for all this? Does it matter which cleaner I use?

And when I first start my car, the idle is extremely rough and then the RPM drops to 500, and then the engine just does. Do I just clean it like how you showed in this video or could it be another problem? Thank you!

  • @MrLigosan carb cleaner works on all but a maf sensor, must use maf cleaner on that.

  • hey scotty i have a 1991 toyota 3.0v6 and it surges pretty badly as soon as its warmed up any ideas it revs at 2grand rpm then down to 500 then back up i have no clue whats wrong with it please help

  • @TheJayftw of course, try all this cleaning first, and if it doesn't work, start checking for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold system.

  • Hey Scotty, I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu 3100V6 that surges during warm-up. I tried cleaning the throttle body and everything else. So then I decided to use a scan tool and it said it was too lean. Im thinking its the O2 sensor, any ideas? Thanks for any advice!

  • @hotjhop93 odds are it's lean because of vacuum leaks. Those babies are notorious for intake manifold vacuum leaks.

  • my car wouldnt start so i started to trouble shoot my car, turns out my blinker fluid was low.

  • @fallenshawn that is an absurd comment. Please, this is for serious comments.

  • @scottykilmer Hey Scotty learn to joke around, I had two transmissions and the fluid was low on the third one

  • @fallenshawn check your WTF sensor too, it usually goes bad if your blinker fluid is low

  • @fallenshawn The blinker fluid pump may be leaking? Better replace it. Ck the blinker pump belt as well.

  • @AthenasConquest i just put JB weld in the blinker fluid tank, no more leaks but my radio gets quiter everytime i take a right hand turn and louder when i take a left.

  • @fallenshawn problem being blinker fluid does not exzist

  • Hi. My jeep liberty (Cherokee) 2.5 CRD need to be cranked abut 20 seconds to start after the fuel filter replacement.

  • @mikr0bas if it only did it once, that's normal from air in the system. If it does it all the time, try my video "how to clean fuel injectors on your car"

  • I have a question about my car that is driving me insane about my 1995 Camry 4cylinder wagon. Basically, when I am in drive and at a stoplight or stopped the entire car + steering wheel "vibrates". I had a mechanic who told me that the motor mounts go bad in camrys so he replaced all the motor mounts in the engine area with aftermarket parts. Still isn't fixed! Any ideas, I was told to replace with an official toyota motor mount instead. At my wit's end, any ideas? Thanks for any advice!

  • I HAVE AN IDLE PROBLEM PLEASE HELP... WATCH MY VIDEO TURBO

  • good video Scotty, keep it up

  • awesome i think this is gonna fix my idle

  • hey scotty, my cars rpm is very low the needle goes below 1 but it stays halfway, and when i come to a complete stop my car shakes a lot and feels like its about to turn off, what could be wrong with it?

  • @Coolivan25 i drive a 94 toyota celica

  • @Coolivan25 try all the stuff in this video, and check out any possible vacuum leaks on the engine intake system.

  • @Coolivan25 took all the throttle assembly off and clean clean clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Scotty thank you so much I got my back to normal and it runs like when I bought it. Your awesome thanks!!

  • @1monkeydude what did u do?

  • Doesnt say much for your filter...

  • Good video, thanks.

  • This video is right on time. I always wonder y my 95 lincoln continental stall so much. Now I kno y.

  • hey scotty i have a 2000 toyota celica that idles at round 500 and 1000 rpms i cleaned the mass air flow senosor the clolor of it was sliver with black tip. is the MAF still good or should i change it. another thing cleaning the MAF did nothing what else can i do?

  • @1monkeydude take the whole throttle assembly off the car, take it apart, and clean every stinking little hole in it.

  • Scotty i must say i really appriciate what you do, Today i cleaned my mass air flow sensor and cleaned my throttle plate and ive got to say my car runs close to new. Thanks again!

  • hi scotty, my cars rpm goes under 1 rpm to 1/2 rpm and my car begins to vibrate and shake like its going to turn off at a red light or stop sign. would this be a problem with the idle air control valve, i have a 94 toyota celica

  • Billy Mays of mechanics. always yelling, never talking. good video though.

  • @sideshow45 that's my normal voice. And I don't snort cocaine like Billy, my voice is natural, not drug induced.

  • @scottykilmer Hahahaa, now that was funny!

  • hi scotty good videos.i have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 and is doing 2 problems.1. is that my truck sometimes dies when turning. and when i drive over a bumpy road the rpm's gets crazy and stall and sometimes the truck just die 2.the transmision whe i put the truck on drive(d) sometimes runs good and and sometimes does not move at all. when put on reverse the truck just kick really hard. hope you can help me

  • @karaokevirtual trannies going out for sure, decide whether you want to spend that kind of big money.

  • thanks

  • I have a '90 Toyota Celica 2.2 5SFE and it idles a bit high ( around 1000-1200 RPM ) when the engine is warm. I've checked all my vacuum hoses for leaks,I've cleaned the throttle body and IAC, I replaced spark plugs, air filter, had the coolant flushed at my local toyota dealer and changed the oil. But nothing seems to work, is this a common issue with these cars/engines?

  • Comment removed

  • @hentaidrifter not really, me, I'd take the entire throttle assembly off, take it apart, and clean all the small holes inside and the iac valve assembly, that always works for me.

  • I don't know if someone already told you but you forgot to say that some throttles have a special coating that you can't use any regular throttle cleaner on them, they need a special one and normally, they have a big warning on them.

  • @hondannyboy Yes, but those coatings really are pretty much crap, they come off over time anyway. It was a piss poor solution to a problem, better to just clean the crap off entirely to bare metal, then clean em every once in a while. No coating lasts that long in that environment.

  • 1. clean mass air flow sensor with brake cleaner theres a heated wire that gets gummed up with the air that passes over it.

clean your throttle plate like he says run 3m intake body cleaner with engine at tempature though the port a vac port on the throttle body

run fuel injector cleaner though your injector rail directly disconnect fuel pump it will run off the cleaner pull the fuse. check for air leaks use brake cleaner spray around vacc lines sometimes it a vac line that is broken or bad

  • hey scotty. Ive got a problem with my audi S4. my engine will stall if i accelerate a little and pop the clutch in, it will start without problems everytime. Checked for leak tests.. not found any, and im running 1.4Bars of boost, and its very stable on the boost even. Got any Tips?

    Thank you!

  • @steffentangen91 audis become endless money pits as they age, and to work on them, you need a dealer level scan computer, which I have, but I STILL hate working on them. Have it scanned, but also check for vacuum leaks, that often does that in those things as they age, due to excessive use of cheap plastic engine parts that crack with age.

  • i have a 1988 gmc s15 jimmy 2.8 and when i start it it idles good for a sec than it revs up by it self and than dies what could it be

  • @bloodhellsing25 often vacuum leaks, try my video "finding vacuum leaks with a cigar" or pay a mechanic with a smoke machine.

  • @scottykilmer i don't think it is an intake manifold leak. i am not leaking coolant and i check my coolant regularly and none is missing.

  • Quit yellin' dude !

  • @scottykilmer I am having a surging idle problem with my 95 chevy blazer 4.3 vortec. The car has a surging idle and engine runs rough at times, it even making the dash vibrate while accelerating. i had the fuel filter changed and it made it somewhat better, but it seems to be worse on some days then others and it seems to be triggered more on colder days. on warmers days the car runs normally. what do you think could be the cause of this? thank you.

  • @darkphazon92384 often intake manifold leaks on that engine.

  • hey scotty i have a 1999 chevy silverado 5.3 vortec and it doesnt like to start when its really cold outside. then when it does it wont idle very good it goes up and down and if you tap the gas it almost dies any ideas thanks

  • @zackduellman88 often weak fuel injectors on those plastic monster systems. But try my video "how to clean fuel injectors on your car" and pray that helps.

  • would my car starting good but when i come to a stop the rpm needle goes below half and my car starts shaking be a symptom?

  • I understand what Scotty said to do there and how to do it.

But I bet you won't find a mechanic who charges less than $200 to do that for you. As you can see it's a 15 min. job with a philips screwdriver.

  • my truck's idle started surging up and down when its's started, and right now it starts up and turns off...this sounds like the symptoms in this video to me. but im not good with cars should i bring it to a car repair place or try to do this myself? how much money would a repair place charge for this repair? please respond ha

  • @jbrou3892 hey, try the cleaning yourslef, and on that, check for vacuum leaks as I show in my video "finding vacuum leaks with a cigar" Shops charge lots of money, that's their business, so best to try it yourself first.

  • hi scotty great videos i think i have seen all of them.

I have a 1991 honda accord and my idle sures up and down.

I will try cleaning the throtle plates and idles air control but i have also herd that tightening the fast idle control.

Do you recommend tighteniing the fast idle control?

Keep up the great videos its people like you that make me think there is still honest mechanics out there.

    Cheers

  • @trailerteasing the fast idle valve control the idle when it is started from cold to normal temp. if your honda is idle surging only at the beginning of starting your car, then clean and adjust the fast idle valve. if it surge idle at random time, remove the idle air valve and flush the valve with carb cleaner a few time and airdry. hondas idle air valve are different from the toyota shown here. you have to remove the whole valve controller behind the intake manifold (so coolant WILL flow out).

  • scotty is this really you answering all these comments? hmm?

  • @slickman911 If it has my name and e mail address, yes.

  • Why is this man yelling at me?

  • @bluemonkey101021 Because I"m half deaf from working on machines. That's how i talk, you can certainly hear my information here.

  • @scottykilmer Don't worry about what other people say. I really like how you talk and how you explain things in your videos. You are very clear and easy to understand. I can't stand someone that speaks low and mumbles when trying to explain something.

  • I have a Mitsubishi galant 1995 ray ban and when its idle, it sometimes goes about 1000rpm and something below 800rpm. Do you think cleaning it would solve the problem? I already change my air filter, oil filter

  • @jefrey1983 yes, start there.

  • Scotty, Have a 1987 325e BMW. Automatic transmission. It idles ok but as soon as i put it in D or any other gear it starts to surge and wants to hut off. i put it Neutral and its all good. Back to D and starts acting up again and sometimes it just shuts off. The loghts start surging as well. Any help would be apreciated.

  • @elrott99 start checking for vacuum leaks on the intake system, also try everything in this video to find dirt in the iac system, so clean all that up too.

  • Scotty I have a 1991 Prelude Si that has a surging idle. it jumps from like 1k to 2k, back to 1 back to 2, and it stops randomly, but then seems like starts randomly again. any ideas? Should I clean my throttle body?
