I haven't heard anyone play the opening of the third movement with the energy, speed and accuracy that Argerich does .. or for that matter the chords entering the third movement as well ... she's a phenomenon

I am not saying that this interpretation is bad, I only say that it is not understood very clearly every note in this movement. my only comment is, of course. the best interpretation of Rachmaninoff concerts are by Vladimir Ashkenazy, for my taste. :D

It's not nearly as off the wall - it's more conservative than this live one.

@29622 There are two, the other one is also a live performance. They only reason why one might think it was a studio recording might be that the applause was cut out.

Thank you for sharing this video. It's my favourite piece and Martha's rendition of Rach's 3rd is the most heart-warming version...every time I listen to it my heart will be stirred... She is really very very good!
