  • Sookchai! I have never heard of such story " they kick him out". I knew that they kicked " Ya mo" from Chiengmai becaue her followers were Keo.

  • But Tai people are the people that build this very kingdom. Put it into your head, Tai people are the very people that build Kingdom of Namchao from the beginning and always has been. Nanchoa means "forever ownership".

  • @taimuongtean Nanchao is no where near as old as the name Lao, case closed. Even if you want to claim Nanchao as a Tai kingdom.

  • Are you proud to be Palaung or are you Shan/Tai ?

  • You are correct Sookchai. I should have said Tai ppl. I believe the word Lao emerged after Khun Lo established Lan Xang. At the time of Chao FaNgum the word Lao was quite familiar and vastly used.

  • @Laowest Thank you for explained. You are right.Lao named after Tai separated.

  • In 1254 Lao ppl lost war to the Mongol Keng Kis Khan. Lao ppl escaped from Nong Sae in 5 major routes:

    1. To the North Eastern section of India and become Assam.

    2. to north of Burma and became Tai Yai in Shan State.

    3. follow Mae Nam Nan and added to Lao ppl who came earlier in 740 and becaome Lao Lana

    4. fallow Mekong River added up with lao ppl who came earlier & become Lao Lan Xang.

    5. last group fallow Nam Dam, Nam Deng who became Tai Dam and Tai Deng.

We are all same race & blood.

  • remember this is our ancester of thai and lao race . some of these peoples will match our DNA . may be in the future we can trace our dna who else are close to us...

  • Ooilei, thanks for the reply.

There is a research conducted by Australia National U. titled 'Thai-Yunnan' that presents impressive historical passage of the Tai, Dai and Bai.

  • I belief Oukham is correct. I am Thai and had visited SF Asian Arts Museum that shows lost treasure of Ayudhaya and there were 'Bai Laan'(Korm cripts on palm leaves) recording of Buddist teaching.

  • Yes the Siamese wrote in Korm but not the Tai Lue. The Tailue script is ตัวธรรม but it is descended from the Mon script which the Lanna and Burmanese are also descended from. The script used here is Tai Yai and it is desended from the Buramese script. The Korm script is Old Khmer which is not Mon. I am also Thai by the way.

  • I'm sorry I didn't mean Tai Yai I added that by accident.

  • Correction,it is the Nan seu Taam,or Nan Seu Bai laan, derived from sansrit and pali.I could not read it.

  • Oukham is wrong this is not Korm script. This is the Tai lue script derived from the mon script like the Burmanese script. Korm was never used by the Tai lue.

  • It is too hard to understand. But It is a nice song anyway.

  • Thanks, long live tai people, the writing is KORM,introduced by king Fagum when he went back to retire in Yunnan otherwise it will be all chinese.

  • thanks for upload nice music video from sipsongpanna ( china )
