The interesting thing about A-11 is the choices it gives the offense and it creates crazy options for the defense. Inspecting this A-11 video clip it is tough on the defense. I look at the spacing and distance between the offensive players and what it forces the defenders to do, which is spread out to cover the A-11 players. I don't see any chance of football going back to the good ol days of smash mouth football. Spread out formations is the call and it will only become more so
this A-11 offense is a joke i doubt that any division 1 college coach would look at the kids in this video and say "This kid really knows how to use route running skills to get in the open field" NNOOO hes going to sit there and feel sorry for that kid because his coach didnt have enough trust in his players to run a playbook that utilizes and showcases skills that would get him to the next level. sorry but we wont see any of these kids on espn cuz A-11 isnt a real offense its a glitch
That wideout for piedmont #1 is raw, and so is #9 for the Illinois team. Where are they now, did those kids move up to college ball, they are doing some incredible things in these A-11 shows?
Anybody find out where this qb from Illinois went? He chucks the ball with ease and sprays it all over the field with great touch and speed. A gunslinger
This offense is shit. You wanna play Rugby go to Australia. Using illegal formation loopholes in the rules to make an offense is utter crap. This O doesn't stand up to good, well coached defenses.
So, on the last play of this clip the Hook and Ladder to #25, that guy was technically a covered-up and ineligible receiver who ended up receiving the hook an dladder?
once we start seeing more plays like the last one the game of football will be more dynamic and more exciting. Its like Magic Johnson in basketball or Ronaldhino in soccer a transition to a more tricky/cerebral/street game will make offenses much more fun to watch
the reason you don't have to worry about it in the nfl is they have different rules for declaring eligibility before the snap. ie. william perry caught td's wearing number 72 by simply checking in the with refferee prior to the play. try to line 10 wes welkers up against nfl linebackers and see how many are left after the second quarter.
Sucks that they changed the rules to stop it. But is the offense that good or are these highlights against so shitty D's? Its an open field tackle... You have to be able to make that against any offense.
If this was ever allowed in the NFL it would have made the league a joke. If you want to watch backyard/street football then do that or watch arena football. This is a novelty, not real football.
Technically all the RB Bulldogs 2,4,5, and 6 plays are illegal. Unless high school football is different, it doesn't matter if you have an eligible number. Only the 2 people on the end of the line (which has to have 7 people on it) are eligible. The numbers don't matter in that facet of legality concerning that rule. They send every one down the field basically. That is what makes it illegal. And the refs should be able to easily see that. Unless they are stupid.
false. the formation is a scrimmage kick formation because the QB is 7 yards back. This makes everyone except for the Long Snapper eligible to catch a pass.
So then what you are saying is, if it is a kick formation, then the defenders are legally allowed to run the "receivers" out of bounds. As it is a kick formation and should be treated as such. Also they said they wanted to try and bring this into the NFL and NCAA. The rules (which I couldn't find for HS prior to this) in those 2 (NFL/NCAA) say that only the players on the ends of the line and 3 non throwing players in the backfield can go out for a pass. Making it illegal there any ways.
Once the play goes from being a kicking play to a passing play, the rules for pass interferance still apply, as they would with a fake field goal or fake punt. It doesn't matter if they want to use this in the NFL or in College because you stated "Technically all the RB Bulldogs 2,4,5, and 6 plays are illegal." in direct reference to the video. It doesn't matter all that much anyways. The NFHS banned the A-11 offense nationwide. I bet that changes at some point soon though.
I don't see why there is so much controversy about this defense. Some tackling drills would have helped these defenses stop most of these plays 20 yards shorter.
this might be the dumbest offense...any half minded coach can figure it out.....if you just send one guy to rush the qb and play man everywhere else you can stop it.....all u need is athletes on your defense
Problem is the coaches who are complaining see that this forces their LB's to be more mobile, which means they'll get burned alot more. So you're right, you don't REALLY want a Ray Lewis guarding a Hines Ward. DB's would be in high demand. I still would like to have seen it in college and the pros. I hate that big school politics had it ruled illegal. Definitely would have been an improvement.

Does anybody have updates on this ILLINOIS quarterback?
That kid throws a beautiful ball, deep, wide, short and middle, doesn't matter.
Is he a qb at the college level anywhere, great arm
