I still can't believe this tech is over 20 years old and it STILL isn't commonly used. I would love to see the day that some common product, not just some toy or nick-nack, has an AR interface. The GUI has been around a long time, it's about time to atleast experiment with something 3d (like this not like compiz).

Well it isnt commonly used because there are some more advanced things that can do similar things (green screen for example) and it isn't perfected anyway.....

Green screen is not a user interface tool. Augmented reality is the old technique from before green screen when it comes to film. AR has yet to be used for anything substantial as a user interface paradigm.

There's a book, sorry i can't remember the name, where everything is pretty much just white, and people wear glasses that project an image of the building onto the building... Perhaps that would interest you...

Similarly, I'm working on an Iphone app that will give you information based on a picture of a building, ie, restaurant menus and store websites, but it's a ways to go yet.

That basically what the Sony eye(ps3) does with the game Eye of Judgment, the cards you lay down transforms and turn into 3D character on the screen and battle each other. If i am correct i think they interact with you if you try to touch them (ex. by biting towards your hand or move out of the way.)

Actually, they're already making a duel disk in real life. For a while now they've been creating the scanning portion of the disk using microchips in the cards to be scanned. It's been completed and is now in arcades in Japan as an arcade machine. Now they're working on making it portable. It's not going to have the pain feature though, since stupid parents can sue.

実際に3D映像を視覚にオーバーラップさせる際、実際の物体と3­D物体のZ軸が問題になります。ARTOOLKITにもMult­iView等のサンプルがあり、2つのWebカメラを利用して三­角測量法？で奥行きを表現した作品がありました。えっと、、たし­か、、ネギを追いかけるMikuの作品だったと思います^^。
