I can't believe I'm talking seriously about the Care Bears of all things, but maybe one reason your daughter feels that way is that this new version doesn't seem to have any dramatic tension. As in, you know, villains who actually seemed like a threat and gave a more of a feeling of danger (by Care Bear standards, that is. We're not talking the Terminator, here.)

I think kids appreciate that kind of thing WAY more than a lot of over-protective types think they do.

I grew up with MLP/Care Bears etc when I was a kid in the 80's and with the new series of MLP I admit, after the gen 3/3.5 crap I was REALLY wishing they would now leave MLP alone, let it die and let it stay dead that gen was horrible and gave MLP a REALLY bad name. However, after seeing the new gen I have realised that Lauren is now my reboot goddess, I wasn't looking forward to FiM but whilst I still love the original the best but FiM is awesome! Now we need her to do the same with CB

I agree that the older cartoons are WAY more superior- Both DiC's and Nelvana's series. But I wonder what kids who grow up on THIS will think if/when they see the DiC and Nelvana series- will they think the originals are better or this series because it's what they knew?

I LOVED Nelvana's series- but I wish it was closer to DiC's seires- Nelvana's animation was so well done and fun to watch. DIC though had the bears HELPING KIDS- which Nelvana had only some of. This series lacks that. :/
