  • This is the first time I am listening to this song......I have loved Saigals voice even without understanding a word.....Please try to post the translation into Hindustani.

  • @65naz1

hello my friend,I wrote the poems in Persian in my comment and due to lack of space I post the translation here:

she killed us by her coquettish look & made destiny her pretext

she did not look in my direction herself & made modesty her pretext

she put her hand on a stranger shoulder out of generosity , when she saw us ,stumbling was her pretext

she came outside her home, but when she heard our cry. giving alms to mendicant was her pretext

P.S FOR THE LAST TWO VERSES NO ROOM!!

  • @backgammonmaster Thank you very much for your trouble. Our family has been out of the subcontinent for the last 120 years.Slowly the cultural links are being weakened.Thank God for YOUTUBE and people like you who help bridge these gaps. Thanks again.

  • THE LAST TWO VERSES ARE POSTED HERE!! went to the mosque to see her countenance. she rubbed her hand to her face & made supplication her

    pretext!!

the ascetic could not stand the beauty of fair faces - took to a corner & fear of god was his pretext.

please not the rhythm and rhyme of poetry can not be carried over in translation.

I tried to be faithful to the meaning at the cost of rhymes and rhythms.

Hope this is of worth to all of those interested.

    cheers!!

  • @backgammonmaster Thanks for your kind gesture, heard this wonderful rendition by the legendary Sehgal saab, without understanding a word .

  • Can you please translate what he is saying?

  • I'm not sure about the first song, but I think the second song talks about the illusory nature of life, how things constantly change. I'll try to find out...

  • Thank you so much, I know this song is in Farsi so that might help. Take Care!!!

  • I posted a link to the translation provided by another user in the description section. I can't speak Farsi so I don't know. Hope this helps. Thanks :)
