I think they took Barbara's deal because she was right with what she said at the end: they were too greedy. Especially with Kevin going in on it, because he lowered it back down to 350 after Robert had bid 500. They got too greedy, and Barbara was giving them the money they wanted while still maintaining control.
Guys its a very simple business, its selling goods, and if you dont think any of the Sharks couldn't pull it off well then, think again. I have only watched this episode, and I can already tell that I wish I could have all of them as my advisers and co owners, they are the best of the best, not just a silly investor, but ones that make millions of billions.

@StickyickyX i don't know where you think this is all fiction...but on let's say 15 deals they make on TV per season...like half of these actually go through. On the canadian show, we often see where the deals are at and most often, the companies are in way better shape with the dragons on board. This is not all fiction, the TV deal may not be the REAL deal, but there are negotiations afterwards for sure!

I don't get why people voted down HawkmanDude's coment.
I think Barbara is the best negotiator I've ever seen (With the exception of Kevin O'Leary selling his shitty business to Mattel for 3.7 billion (which was prably the second worst deal a company ever made #1 being Time Warner buying AOL) but in that time period there were a ton of people able to oversell tech during the boom).

In this vid, she knew that 2 women would pick her over 3 guys and more importantly she knew those 2 women wouldnt realized that the other 3 sharks were offering them a better deal. She's smart and getting great deals. In that Emmy the Elephant episode, Robert told the girl-you don't need us just go to a big company and make this same pitch and set up to get paid in royalties. And that girl still chose Barbara's deal of 55% for 50K and said she was the nicest. haha robert looked pissed after

@girlsareitems i like barbara but my problem with her is that she takes too many deals, to be honest i am very ruthless with this show i watch it hoping to see really really bad products and then these people just tell them they need to stop wasting their money and pack it up. i cant stand when everyone does that then all of a sudden barbara picks it up for a tiny deal like 40k. Boring.
Thats just from a TV standpoint, I do like Barbara though just when that one thing comes around.... ugh

One of the producers of this show is Peter Jones, one of the 'stupid British pricks" you refer to..without him, this show wouldn't even be on the air.
In addition to this, Duncan Bannatyne, one of the dragons from the UK version, could buy and sell every 'shark' in this little tank :)

I was trying to find Dragon's Den ( In the States, Shark Tank ) and wound up watching a Finnish production. Didn't undersand a word, but the dynamics are the same. This Japanese original concept is international.

When Roger tells the woman flat out pitch to a company and not to us because you have a good idea and don't need us...and your honest Barbara took 55% of the products profits for 50K. That idea was definitely worth more than $100K and all she would have had to do is pitch her idea to a company instead.
