  • Blade Runner is OK?! It's bloody brilliant, you fat bastard!

  • One of my favourite films of all time. Love especially the floating Chinese noodle cart.

  • @michaelivingstone That's from THE FIFTH ELEMENT, which Luc Besson has described his setting as Blade Runner but with sunlight.

  • Harrison Ford is a great actor, ppl say hes cocky and arrogant but w/e hes a great actor and entertainer, I like him.

  • @doomguy5000 Good story dude. It was the bite marks to the ass part that gave it away, but then what fun would that be?

  • @doomguy5000 Contributed to his death? James lived for 15 year after Blade Runner...seems like a stretch to me.

  • Ford plays an unpleasant character in this movie who changes because of the various experiences he has, especially at the end when he gets the crap kicked out of him by Roy Batty who then saves his life. His character is completely different from any other he's portrayed and his best role IMO.

  • So given his track record... Ridley Scott is pro Transhumanism?

  • @LunaSeaSane It seems pretty clear to me that Blade Runner is partly a cautionary tale against transhumanism.

  • @squamish4244 As "pretty clear" as having Darth Vader represent christianity.

  • @LunaSeaSane Whatever dude. It's because the film is so effective as a cautionary tale that you decide to pull a classic ''deny everything'' and argue the complete opposite.

  • No. I asked a question. And I did so in order to find out what people think about it.

  • Forgive me, but Ridley kinda resembles the mountain man from Deliverance

  • I think if Dustin Hoffman had done the role as they originally planned it would have been a bigger hit because people don't expect heroics from him as they do Ford. So they're not going to be disappointed that he doesn't save the day. Hoffman also somehow can sell certain things that would be hard to accept for an audience. An unemployed actor pretending to be a woman to get work? An autistic guy who can win at cards? Sure, why not!

  • @doomguy5000 maybe the rumours that Scott forced Brian Thompson to perform oral sex on him.....ARE true.

  • This man deserves an Oscar for AWESOMENESS!!!

  • he looks like an older version of bryan cranston

  • BLADE RUNNER: ONE OF THE BEST FUCKING MOVIES EVER MADE!!!! OR EVER WILL BE MADE!!!

  • Indiana Jones movies are utter trash compared to Blade Runner. Comic book nonsense for young teenage boys. Completely forgettable; Blade Runner on the other hand...

  • It was a bit of a bomb when it first came out but now it's recognised as a great movie

  • Blade Runner is just an edge below star wars in terms of awesomeness.

  • Witness was the best that Harrison played

  • it's deckard not decker

  • harrison boggart

  • Ridley Scott, director of Alien, Gladiator, and Blade Runner.

Do you need to have directed anything else?

  • @HeroOfCanton99

    Ghost In The Shell!

  • Ford is certainly flexible in his talent. He was perfect in "Witness" and equally deft in Blade Runner. Okay, he's a cop in both, but they're quite different kinds of cops. He has this Mickey Rourke quality where he can be very tough but at the same time convey this great humanity, but without competing with Rourke because he does it totally his own way. I swear, if he doesn't get an Oscar, historians will always wonder why he was robbed (at least he was nominated for best actor in Witness).

  • blade runner tok 25 years to evolved.......

  • I am a big fan of ridley scott..what a great director

  • i think no actor in this movie has had a better performance in later movies. was it ridley scott who managed to extract it from them, or was it the movie itself --the combined talents of philip k. dick, the script writers, and the director, with the actors responding to the sheer brilliance of this story they were in?

  • Good quality video dude!

  • Best death ever.

  • Never thought Harrison Ford was the best choice for Decker. He doesn't show that much dynamic in the performance. His early voice over narration was terrible. I wonder if Ford was Ridley's only choice for the role.

  • @cutis1000 Harrison Ford did the voice over of Blade Runner as badly as possible in the hopes that they wouldn't use it. Because he hated the idea of adding a voice over. Or so I've heard.

  • Hey everyone, add me if you have a passion for film making. I'm british and sixteen and want to be a film director. Add me and we'll talk about how someone would go about making it in the industry, what films you liking at the moment or even what inspired you to get into film in the first place :)

  • @Statistic100 If you want to be a great film artist study Ozu.

  • @Statistic100 Study Ozu to be a great film artist.

  • Ridley's got a hypnotic voice. Add to this his passion, knowledge and obvious intelligence and I could honestly listen to the guy all day. He also has great integrity within the industry too. He doesn't make the little man feel like the little man. In a word he "rocks".

  • @Nautilus1972,

    No, he's not.

  • Actually, in the newest Special Edition Rerelease, Harrison Ford plays Luke Skywalker, and Hayden Christensen plays Han Solo.

  • He meant Jabba the Hutt.

  • Tricky opening indeed. But i still remember seeing the movie in the theatre when it came out and loving it and it's always been one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • it was a slip- he meant to refer to Han Solo.

  • He stood of got an oscar nod for Deckard

  • I'm a Harrison Ford fan so any movie he makes is AWESOME. . . .lol

  • ditto :)

  • @MDWhiteDove Im Harrison Ford

  • @MDWhiteDove You and me both. From as early as i can remember :)

  • he meant Han Solo. anyway Deckard is a far more challenging and greater acting role for Harrison than Han Solo or Indy Jones. I love them all, but Deckard is his greatest performance.

  • He was great in Witness; and he was great in Fugitive. Both of them were Academy Award performances, but HF movies make too much money and he is loved by too many people to EVER get an Oscar.

But maybe - in spite of what he thinks about it himself - this IS his greatest performance.

I've read Lennon saying that his best music just fell out of him, in just minutes; and Jimmy Page I read once, said that they wrote Stairway to Heaven in like half an hour. Why not Harrison as the Blade Runner?

  • @Vstrat0,

Harrison Ford is one of my favorite actors.

  • @Frye666 Well said. I think Harrison Ford starred in very many movies but he generally played quite positive and charismatic characters. Deckard was very brash and even unpredictable at times. He really showed the range of his acting abilities by taking on Deckard and he pulled it off so well as well.

I'd love to see Ridley and Harrison team up again.

  • @Frye666 - I agree. Deckhard was a much more meaty role. But Han Solo and Indy Jones were pure genius roles, great heros and are timeless. If you look at Han Solo and Indy Jones, they are virtually idenitical in character, except one wears a a hat and the other has a laser gun.

  • @badboy10ize oh yeah? sure...

  • @Frye666 - Is that a reply or are you on illegal drugs?

  • @badboy10ize wow. the humor of a 3rd grader.

  • @badboy10ize Not really.

  • @Frye666 Hey Check out Mosquito Coast, He plays Allie Fox and is perfect. I think it rivals his performance in Bladerunner.

  • @Frye666

Ford is great in Peter Weir's MOSQUITO COAST too.

  • @Frye666 After the scene when Deckard puts two 43 caliber exploding bullets through the back of Zara and he subsequently watches her bleed to death on the sidewalk, he manages to effectively look queasy like he may throw up on the curb, properly wet mouth before blowing chunks, a proper mammalian response “it didn’t make me feel any better about shooting a fleeing girl in the back.”

  • @Frye666 I feel the same exact way; I've been saying the same thing over and over again to myself. I absolutely love Blade Runner and I don't know why but it seems like it's his best performance to me...Perhaps, it's just that much of a masterpiece.

  • I feel the exact same way; I've been saying the same thing to myself over and over again ever since I saw the film. It's been one of my favorites ever since and I don't know why but I feel like it's his best performance...It's interesting because of how much he can fool the general audience into believing he's human. Yet, because Ford has this dry edge to him, he pulls off the best of both. To me, he's not directly a replicant--only thematically and symbolically. It's really just a mystery.

  • What? Ford was Luke Skywalker???

  • Totally Man!
