MLK-legend to many irrespective of race.People have lost faith in politics/politicians leastways in Britain-I'm white and not 'jealous of not having a role model like MLK'(re comment by KillYaAll)He was and is a role model to ALL mankind.
I really miss Martin Luther King Jr.His speech of freedom to Afriacan Amarican people I mean to all of us.He was the most greatest Lord's Or God's favrite Person... That day of I have a dream speech was the most happiest day to African-Amarian. He came down to earth like Jesus to make African-Amarican's Free!
Maybe its because of the Google: Jeff Fisher "A Tribute to Pat Tillman"
Update on Nazis for Jesus film crew.
This morning 10 gaffers from Austria took me out for breakfast. As Jane says it was "YUMMY"
I also had the Trinity Baptist Church pray for the 35 kids murdered at BayPoint School and then I spoke at the pulpit as well praising MLK who blessed me 22 times in 1966 & 1967 & praising Jesus the Christ forever also.
Yeah obama being elected is a big step for racial unity and all. But MLK's message wasn't for blacks to be equal with whites. His message was worldwide peace, unity and equality. I think MLK would be proud of the fact that racial unity has come this far. But he would be dissappointed in Obama's policies for more war and suffering and hatred. Its up to the people to stop all the wars. And to realize MLK's true message. One man can't change the world.
Yeh he wants to take troops out if Iraq but send 17,000 to afghanistan , and he has already started bombing pakistan...and who knows whats gonna happen with iran. Same hatred and violence...different war.
I am a white American and proud that Americans of all race pulled their heads out of their ass and voted for Barack Obama!! I am happy that for once most American stood up and voiced their opinion instead of letting someone else decide for them year after year. Power to the People!!
I dont get what white people has against black people. Since the white people brought the black people to America and turned them to slaves, and now they hate them? Its just pathetic! I hope Obama will be next president, and white people are jealous 'cause they dont have any rolemodel like Malcolm X or Martin Luther King jr
they are jelousy of us anyways who cares now? our dream come true a black man made a record in the whole world on top of that many afro ppl realised that they had to fight 4 their freedom they gave us an example ppl like martin luther, malcon & nelson mandela. which role models do they have? what do we learn from them? nothing apart from racism
my teacher was talkin about this, how Obama's acceptance for the nomination of president in the democratic party was the same day as martin luther king's speech. we got to write about it too.
gemini stop hatin hes black thats how they look at as and if this were the old days if u were mixed u were considered black so hes black sounds to me u dont want to admit that he might be the first african american to be persident hater!
he consider himself as black and the majority of america consider him as a black man. Due to the gouvernment in the united states 50% or more have to be african or african american, to be considered black.
Do you believe there is a difference between black and whites in actions or the way of thinking? because I dont. I believe that the only difference is colour. And because the majority consider him as a black man, and the most important, HE consider himself as a black man I believe that's how it is. We're Proud! Can't believe it. Keep it up baracK!
because blacks were, and are treated different, and mostly worse than whites and I believe this is a big, historical moment which all people should be really proud of. Finally Barack Obama has shown that you can be a black man, and be in the most powerful, and important position that is. He is the proof that things now have changed, and that you can go beyond predjudice for a bigger purpose. A man that proves that the world now has moved forward! Big up Barack Hussein Obama.
A liberal republican set free the slaves, but the republicans kept them in social bondage far after the empty promises of the reconstruction. When you look at the registrations for the year 2008 democrats out number republicans. Oh and by the way... Democrats kept their promise in allowing women and blacks vote. Look up Jim Crow laws and southern hoses being turned on Black, Whites, and Latinos. We are all patriots, this country deserves a great leader... Obama 08'
Actually kakbhwf The so called "Social Programs" keep them in social bondage .On the outside you may think that the government is helping them ,but,I can assure you that it only keeps that person on a poverty level, People under these situations are penalized by trying to get free of it as a result the are most likely to remain on it..The Democrats have long relied on "Wel-Fare" states on the premise of votes..They keep them poor and angry and point the blame to the Republicans is their motto..
Dr. Martin Luther King was a Republican because ut was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860's, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950's and 1960's.
Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools.Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice to the U.S. Supreme Court which resulted in ending school segregation. Also Eisenhower took action to effectively end segregation in the military.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican because the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: Slavery, Secession, Segregation and now Socialism
Democratic Kennedy voted against the Civil rights Act while he was a senator as president,Kennedy was opposed to the March in Washington by Dr.King that was organized by A. Phillip Randolph a black Republican. Kennedy, and his brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy, had Dr.King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr.King. Obama made a statement that the Kennedy's had a hand in where we are now and therefore MLK would not of voted Obama!
Actually vedicastrol it's not because of guilt Teddy and Caroline will endorse anyone who is the candidate nomination of their party that which they belong...Politicians have always one day be at each others throats within the primaries and all the sudden all is forgotten and their somehow the best friends the Clintons endorsing Obama is a perfect example as not too long ago Both Bill and Hillary were saying Obama is not ready to lead and now they are saying the opposite..it's a political game.
on this night I cannot believe that the Rev Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were not invited to speak. what has Barry ever done for civil rights? Oh I know, his parents met in Selma.
whatever, you may be right or wrong but the point of the matter is that if McCain becomes president the US will surly become a true Beacon of light...
because of all the nuclear warheads going off here when McCain starts something with Russia.
Russia is thinking of aiming nuclear weapons at western Europe this is very dangerous not only for Europe but for everybody.Obama suggested Russia be dealt with through the U.N. negotiations, however Russia holds veto power within the U.N. and therefore any decisions made by the U.N. could legally not have to be honored by Russia.Trying not to be insulting to Obama, but, after carefully considering the two candidates, I honestly feel that situations of this nature are a bit over his head.
