I LOVE THIS. I got it the first day it came out, but i havenent beat it yet due to my school work. my first halo was ODST, and i loved it. Then i played 3 and Reach. Im gonna beat the main trilogy on heroic so when halo 4 comes out, i'll b redy :)
Giving the game an entirely new graphic engine, and being able to switch back to back from the original to new graphics is innovative and original.
And this game established how all FPS' play today. It feels exactly like any other COD, Battlefield, or hell, Halo game that has come out recently. It feels and looks recent.

I noticed somthing interesting, they gave Halo Anniversary which has updated graphics, skulls and more options, a good online mode, and a great campaing thats still fun to play, an 8.0 which is ok but not what it should be. But they gave COD Classic which does not have udated grahpics, does not have more options, and did not inprove the online in the slightist, an 7.5. What the hell?! they slamed halo for "showing its age", and yet COD gets a better score than it should. does that make sence?

Either way you look at it, this game of a remake is a new release to the market and it has no choice but be compared to modern games in the same category. Shooters have come a long way, therefore age has been unkind to most older shooters. Heck it's even surprising that this game gets an 8. It only makes sense.
I agree, it's a commonly annoying fault among game critics to excuse game issues because they appeared years ago. We're not necessarily calling the game bad, there's just much better games we could be playing instead. Goldeneye is way below par today.
The truly great games are those that continue to rule their genres despite their age, like Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario 64, and Soul Calibur 2.

This review feels off just like the MK review, but at the end of the day they are just opinions. I enjoy reading the reviews so its really unsettling when a review doesn't match up with my opinion. MK and Halo CE are the first two games whose reviews just felt wrong, still great scores but just off. IMO MK and Halo were both 9's. But again that's my opinion.
I don't think much people understand. 343 made this game for people when they were 10 who'd stay up all night playing this masterpiece, it wasn't designed to compete with any other games like Battlefield or your Call of Duty. It was simply do be a game were those people could drain their time going through their childhood memories. Actually, Bungie/343i just make games in the middle of the main titles to distract fans, it's pretty smart. It isn't exactly an annual release, either, since fans had to wait about four years for Halo 2, 3, and now 4 to come out after their predecessors. And that was pretty much just a summary of what you do in Halo, it's easy to do that for many games. In Battlefield you also just drive and shoot. In GTA you just hi-jack cars and run over people, etc.

This review feels off just like the MK review, but at the end of the day they are just opinions. I enjoy reading the reviews so its really unsettling when a review doesn't match up with my opinion. MK and Halo CE are the first two games whose reviews just felt wrong, still great scores but just off. IMO MK and Halo were both 9's. But again that's my opinion.

Actually, Bungie/343i just make games in the middle of the main titles to distract fans, it's pretty smart. It isn't exactly an annual release, either, since fans had to wait about four years for Halo 2, 3, and now 4 to come out after their predecessors. And that was pretty much just a summary of what you do in Halo, it's easy to do that for many games. In Battlefield you also just drive and shoot. In GTA you just hi-jack cars and run over people, etc.

If a channel had a video call "MW3 sucks" and another video called "MW3 is the best game" then it wouldn't make too much sense would it. As much as I like this a lot, I didn't expect much, just new graphics, remastered music, skulls, all that stuff, but hey, I've seen more effort in this game that cod. I liked the new maps, but ya, there should've had a multiplayer like the original. It's 343's first game, I didn't expect much. They did a decent job for a first game.
