Maybe you were meant to experience this separation in order to understand just how important she is to you. i've been playing guitar for 40 years now, and i still haven't worked out why it is that certain pieces of music can make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and my eyes fill with tears when i hear it - this song is one of those, especially 3.54 - 4.18.
When this song came out I was between 10 and 12, I LOVED this song. This is what every woman wants to be told.. but even more than that, we want this to be actually true coming from a man... Only Sting can sing this in such a way as to tear at my soul. The pain and sense of love lost in his voice is awesome. The man puts so much emotion into his art.
This may sound too harsh, but you know what? you should celebrate, big time, that you dind't have the wedding that wasn't meant to happen. And you should celebrate that you didn't marry someone who's not meant for you. Don't jump into anything(relationship) because it's too hard to bear( and it is). This is the best, most precious time for you to be with yourself and learn from yourself. So that you prepare and develop into the person for the one who's meant for you.

When this song came out I was between 10 and 12, I LOVED this song. This is what every woman wants to be told.. but even more than that, we want this to be actually true coming from a man... This is how I felt about my soon to be ex-husband, to bad what people say and do are opposite... sorry for the negative vibes, I'm just glad I didn't use it as our wedding... I can still listen to it... the one we choose I can't even hear it...

@kim19pr75 that is so true, the biggest mistake we make, is to take the ones we love for granted, we figured that we love them, so we don't need to show it, or to say it...why, he/she already knows! Boy! we are such fools, and when we're lonely we think that maybe we should've said it often and show it often. :(

This may sound too harsh, but you know what? you should celebrate, big time, that you dind't have the wedding that wasn't meant to happen. And you should celebrate that you didn't marry someone who's not meant for you. Don't jump into anything(relationship) because it's too hard to bear( and it is). This is the best, most precious time for you to be with yourself and learn from yourself. So that you prepare and develop into the person for the one who's meant for you.

@themadscientist7 I remember reading a break-up self-help book after I was terribly cheated and dumped by someone whom I thought I couldn't live without. of all the things the book touched on, the following has stuck with me: five years from now, you would be SO Thankful that this person let go of you. Because this person let you go, better and finer people could come into your life and make your life that much better. I couldn't imagine it at the time but today, I thank God everyday for that.
