If you ever find yourself in a survival situation, please stay the hell out of the cold water. I know they like to have bear test himself and his knowledge base. I realize they are making a show. But please, seriously, do not play in water in a frozen climate.

Everyone should experience ice cold water for themselves atleast once under controlled conditions as part of survival training. But that does not mean you go looking for opportunities to survive having been dunked into icewater.

well its easier to do 'extreme' stuff when you have a couple of guys with satelite phones ready to call in a chopper should the worst happen... the reason les stroud is boring is becasue hes by himself and if he breaks a bone or gets really hurt, theres no one there to bail him out.... dont get me wrong i like them both... but if your by yourself in a 'real' survival situation, you never take any un-necessary risks, thats how you get hurt or die.. bear does eat some roudy stuff though..

Bear Grylls isnt fake... what everyone has to understand, is that he's just SHOWING you what you COULD do if you were in a similar situation. Bear doesn't necessarily have to do those things... because he isn't stranded all by himself. Les Stroud on the other hand, shows you the techniques he actually NEEDS to survive, because it's only him out there. Both wilderness experts know their shit, people have to learn to take the 2 different shows separately.
