I grew up on a small rural ranch in New Mexico. While Quarterhorses will always be my first love, the huge Shires have always captured my attention and admiration. What grand giants they are!
wow that was a beautiful video, and it looks like a fantastic sanctuary. i have rescued a few horses myself, including a shire and she is amazing... =)
An excellent well-made video with some great footage of these wonderful animals. I'm also a lover of Shires and visted Hillside back in 2008 whilst on holiday in Norfolk. As you say - a truly worthy cause.
I did like the music too, if a little sombre. Could you say who/what it is please?
Went to the sanctuary last week whilst staying in West Runton. Fabulous place and thats a big understatement. Thought that we would just be there for a couple of hours and that would be it. Far from it! Got there at about 10.30 and didn't leave until well after 2pm and we didn't want to leave. You can sense the satisfaction from the workers for what they do and that the Horses and the rest of the animals they have are happy. Keep up the good work and see you again sometime. WE WILL BE BACK!
I have been a supporter of Hillside Animal Sanctuary for a number of years but being in Aberdeenshire have never been able to get down for a visit. Therefore thank you for this wonderful video which brought everything a bit "closer to home" that I watched with tears in my eyes and a big smile on my face. Thanks so much for sharing the wonders of Hillside with us.
Your videos are always great, and a real pleasure for all animal lovers.I am so saddened by all the animal cruelty we hear of today,so it is fantastic to see the wonderful work of people like Hillside, who really care and make such a difference to the lives of these beautiful, innocent creatures.Every single animal deserves to live a life without fear and pain, and as the great Ghandi once said: "The greatness of man can be judged by his love and compassion towards animals" ..how very true!!!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful video, I particularly liked watching the pigs running to get to their food! Thank goodness for Hillside - campaigning tirelessly for animals and promoting the vegan way of life.
We went we to Hillside earlier in the year.. My son has autism and loved it!!! he stroked all the shires and loved the open green space there. He gave William (i think) a kiss before we left and its a gorgeous photo, that so i had it enlarged in black & white and canvassed for my wall. i loved that day out xx
Briliant video with inspiring music that so perfectly shows how beautiful & gentle these wonderful animals are. Hillside do an excellent job & I look forward to one day visiting the centre.
This is a beautiful video:) I agree with deeppuddle about the soundtrack - it works perfectly to give the atmosphere to the video. Love all the heavy horses- two v large close friends would definately approve! Hillside the work u do is invaluable cant wait to visit!
We will be visiting you very soon. What a moving video. May cruelty and mistreatment of animals stop as there is no room in my world to tolerate this anymore. Keep up the great work Hillside and thank you for the video.
