I was in Korea when this happened. I visited the site the day after the fire, It was so sad to see... lots of people were crying :(

I am so sorry that Namdaemun has been destroyed. I was lucky to see it in June 2007 on my first trip to Korea.

I am sure the Korean people will rebuild it.

I hope they rebuild, but it just can't be the same as having the original still standing. At least the base of the gate seems to have withstood the fire.
