Looks like an old hybrid ship. Wraith design mixed with with something else? I am betting that those alien cyborgs from the parallel reality will be back(Stargate Atlantis). I wonder if the replicators will be back as well.

The design doesn't look very ancient-y to me-- it's too... I don't know, gritty would be the first word I would use. Rough edges, dark colors, non-symetric shapes, circles (which, other than in the Stargates themselves, they don't use)...

its because its A LOT older than anything we saw in Atlantis.

It looks closer to what we saw in SG1 (headsucker device for example) than SGA.

Its like our own culture, we have gothic architecture, baroque, etc, so its not surprising that Ancients changed a lot in how they build things during a few milenia.

I agree, stargate SG-1 and atlantis are awesome series but with this new series I'm not feeling it. I hope they prove me wrong but I'm afraid that they ruin the "soul" of stargate francise making it more mainstream.

SG-1 and atlantis had contact with earth what made it so interesting, but with this new series they take it away :(

Actually we will never know because the show has almost no association with the other 2 shows. In fact it may only bring in characters or mention other locations only a few times. So it could be before or after, but fact of the matter is, it doesn't really matter. It's a completely separate show.

SGU is not a movie. unless you are talking about SGA, in that case I think the writer's felt that they had one opportunity and they took it and it meant the end of Atlantis in hopes of starting afresh with a different TV show with different ratings. alas, SGA's cancellation was one of the worst things that happened to me.

The coordinates aren't constantly changing, the ship travels within rage of different Stargates for different periods of time, and the crew can explore them but risk getting left behind if they stay too long.

Nope, the ship that seeded the gates was sent out millions of years ago, the Destiny is another ship that the Ancients had planned on exploring them with, but didn't due to the plague/ascension etc.

I thought the secret oddesy mission was when they go to the ori universe as there is no information thats says the events of continuum didnt happen before the ark of truth between unending and the Ark of truth and this would allow for carter to run atlantis also.

The only evidence that I can find that might indicate this is not the truth is that when teal'c appears in atlantis he has dreadlocks and thats it and there is no help from continuum itself as there is no ecidance either way

First thing is first everyone. Destiny is suppose to be about a million years older then Atlantis , so it stands to reason it is going to look less advanced then Atlantis.
