This truely what rock n roll is about a driving primal beat, a man with a bruised voice and dancing to drive you mad. This should be force fed to kids in stead of the rubbish they listen to.
i am so glad to see the best damn alt/blues/punk ass kickers back at it (eat your heart out jon spencer you over produced twat). saw them at brixton academy in fall 94, they were full of drunken swagger and even set their organ on fire with a fifth of whiskey ... now that kicks much arse!
@WhoIsDJGalt: No, I like the way Jon Spencer tried to expand the genre in later JSBX albums. Wish he'd finish with Heavy Trash though; we could do with JSBX & Speedball Baby back on the scene.
I agree with your first point though- the 90s were a magical time for garage.
I've got hold of an album called I Was Dora Suarez its an album of the book by Robin Cook aka Derek Raymond with music by Gallon Drunk, and it is the sickest god damned thing ever!
gruesome doesn't come close to describing the thing... Awesome though...
you dont need to tell me m8,ive seen them from the start in the early ninetys.the music is top drawer without question but if you "know" gallon drunk youll know image is very important to them.
woah!!! awesome, been waiting to hear this for a while,i think its a return to form, hard, raw and sleazy...not so sure about james"s hairstyle though, bit to bret from suede.(sorry james)
the hairstyle is a little bit ehhhm misunderstood.too long a think.but dont forget that if i recall right james did some modelling in the mid 90s.always was style guide for me.last time a was in london someone told me i look like a memebr of gallon drunk.anyway gald i new lp will be out goodbye and shalom
I remember seeing them in 91 supporting Lush and they rocked.
Tidpole 11 months ago
@Tidpole Ha! I was just saying that on another thread. Made Lush seem like the insipid dreary indie pish I came to realise they are (were?).

Killer band.

saw em in 96 in hull, a club called the Room.
quite simply blew me away. still the best live gig I have ever seen and I include the Bad Seeds, Kraftwerk and Reverend Horton Heat in that.
Unbelievable, seriously under-rated.

This is Tre-Doh, checkout my video "Weekend at Bernie's "The Dance" music video"
The song is also available at Itunes. Thanks for the support. This is a crazy song and i can see
the dance being done on every college campus after a few drinks. it also stars Akon's official dj.
