@FutureMsLeto Hannahs situation wasnt typical anorexia tho. Melissa's was, however Hannah knew the entire time that something was very wrong and only became truly delusional after a death. Her issues with family and friends really pushed her and when they were resolved she came home, however her eating is still out of order as you'll see.

i know it dont take a month or two in hospital to recover it takes way longer than that, months and months to recover after having anorexia you need to learn to eat again.

I think Hollyoaks did eating disorders really well, but I really don't like the slow zoom-in to the face whenever Hannah sees food, and that dramatic facial expression. I know its meant to show her panicking at the thought of eating but I find it too melodramatic.

Yeah they had nearly allll the facts right, which was the best thing about it which kept me and soooo many other people hooked on it.

But yeah, it's toooooo melodramatic lol, it's quite depressing and like 'OH NO, FOOOOOOD!'

Just one thing about this storyline. I think Hannah recovered way too quickly! Considering how mentally ill she was before she was sectioned, she should have been in the clinic a good few months atleast till january but they only had her in just under 2 month.

I was thinking excatly the same thing. I was like hannah, and i was held for 4 mounths, at one point i wasnt allowed to watch this because i was getting too much ideas, but then i heard that she was out of hospital, from a friend and she had been in for two mounths and i had still two mouths left

The eating disorder episodes of Degrassi were even worse. Emma "gets over" her eating disorder right away at the hospital.

I agree with you, but for a make-believe tv show this was pretty good.

Ever since this episode, Hannah's character became much more mature. Even before her eating disorder, her character was a bit whingy and whiny but since recovering, she somehow became a lot more grown up and responsiible. I think she was forced to grow up a bit, and shes absolutely lovely now :)

Im a recovering anorexic and totally think that this is a very pretty picture of anorexia. like moonlightshadow said you are allowed home for small amounts of time and have hopefully continued support. and you have relapses. hannah has none of this. but i guess its just a tv programme!

That's totally unrealistic that her dad didn't even know she was getting discharged. In real life they'd have been working towards her discharge by letting her gradually spend more and more time at home.

They only used make-up and baggy clothes to make hannah look anorexic but I think they did a pretty good job. Emma's a really pretty actress too.

I think they put fake tan and make up and stuff on her to show how much better she is. In the height of her anorexia she was pale and spotty with lank hair etc.

I have been waiting ages to see Hannah return again. I hope she isn't going to do the tv cliche of making a miraculous recovery and it never be mentioned again. Anorexics always suffer repeated relapses. So I hope Hollyoaks won't do the usual TV Land thing of deciding that storyline is over and have it disappear without a trace and never return. I only started watching Hollyoaks because of Hannah's anorexia story, and if it stops now, I think I'll just give up watching Hollyoaks again.
