saw Jimi play this in Boston when i was 14? I was a musician at the time and noted that he used a UniVibe for this, In Maui and on a couple of recorded versions he used the vibrato mode on the old Univibe. Remember, Jimi, unlike say Eddie, always changed the way he played a particular song. The point being -- it's all fucking valid ... play on bro

Cool, but its Fmaj7, not F, and G6 not G. To play it you need to stop using a barre and use your thumb for the bass strings it means you can the G6 and Fmaj7, the top E stays open on both the G6 and Fmaj7 chords, and the open A is added for the Fmaj7
