Fantasia is a great performer with a unique quality . After watching many of these videos, she stands alone.. due to her unique voice with great strength, tone and humility. Plus this woman can perform she can truly work off an audience take the energy from them and give it all back and then some. Flaws that are embraced and not masked make the richest of us all. Her voice isn't soft. her look isn't so much cute.but her layers are thick and her heart is big and her voice shows this.i love her.

MTV declared her as the greatest american idol contestant of all time. Even Simon picked as his all time favorite american idol contestant. @jaderrw Her talent level is subjective, and as you said we do know what sells today and MTV is the forefront of selling that BS, so there decision that she is the greatest contestant is also in void. Simon has constantly given different answers to the question of who the best idol winner/contestant is. He has said that Kelly Clarkson is the best vocalist they've ever found and that Adam is the biggest superstar.

In the end, I don't think there will ever be a universally favored american idol.
