  • As one who never really was a Michael Jackson fan, I am totally blown away by this performance. You can see at 1:04 in Sammy's soulful eyes just how special this is, and their embrace at the end is... well, if you can watch this without crying, then you just aren't human.

  • Oh My God, I cannot speak this is so emotional and beautiful !!!

  • This video need to have 175 985 views and Justin biebers baby need to have 600m views?? people forget what is real music

  • Mis toooooo much the three of them... i mean, Sammy Jr.; Michael Jackson and Elizabeth. R.I.P. The world will never be the same without them.

  • beautiful song!

  • One of the most Touching and Amazing moments I have seen on here.... Fantastic.

  • WOW!...............incredible!

  • Left me Speechless for a min. This performance embodies so many words and emotions. Pure, classic, honorable...

  • The people who think MJ was having sex with childen must be lobotomized. He was such a sensual and fragile man. In this he shows so much emotions that it touches my heart also.

  • awesome tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr. from THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER to ever live....

MICHAEL JACKSON!! rest in peace Michael. we miss you!

  • @militantx0660 Don't you mean 'awesome tribute to Sammy Davis Jr, the greatest entertainer who ever lived, from MJ?

  • did anyone else totally feel that hug? the respect there was too much it burst from the screen!

  • How amazing, the passion he shows made me cry.

  • No shit sherlock! Could they have performed it after they died?

  • this was performed before they both passed away

  • see pleace my mj ivica on linz video

  • The two entertainers who ever lived on a stage together

  • MJ was SUCH a great singer!

  • I love it when two great men kiss. It really is nice, doesn't happen often enough. God bless them both, and He does. Two men willing to be hero's. They created all they did with light alone. Amazing when you think about it. These men disciplined themselves into riotous glow. They loved beyond their own self interest. When you do this, you expose yourself to the littleness in others. Oftentimes this is a rough ride. This is what makes any one willing to share Truth of themselves, higher'n me.

  • that waz during the bad era he waz only tanned then . he waz tanned from 1987-1990

  • This song is amazing, and ironic, i wish someone had sang this to Michael Jackson before he passed. These words describe how i feel about him.

  • @cameronstl It was written specifically for Sammy. I believe Michael said he would only perform it that one time. It was a personal gift to Sammy for what he endured and the doors he opened. I mean you never hear about Sammy's contributions, yet he was arguably the greatest allround talent of the 20th century in the field of entertainment. Many of his contemproaries thought so. It was nice that the biggest star in the world had the foresight to honor him in this way, shortly before he died.

  • Wow, Michael really showed so much heart and emotion with this song and it's sweet words and sincerity for Sammy.

  • I have commented before but im here to say again that MJ deserved more than he got. He didnt deserve the crap that people said about him. To me this was a dedication to him and sammie. Love and miss them both.

  • Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, I am the thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain, I am the shining star at night, When you awake to the morning light. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I do not die, So hear these words that here I say, I am the love that guides your way.
  • Oh man, this makes me miss Michael even more now. His beautiful eyes staring out into the audience just make my heart melt. OMG, here come the tears LOL.

  • Oh,God! Michael is amazing! Beautiful! Powerful! He has a voice like an angel! I love him MORE!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • this was for sammy and micheal cool but there was someone there that night that was way bigger then micheal would every be

  • @vpruepiperphoebe What?? :S

  • I don't like fanboy comments. But in all honesty I've not heard a better voice than MJ's. It's even better than Sammy's, and he was hard to beat. Sammy along with the Rat Pack was probably a better gig, but MJ could seriously put on a show. Shame MJ didn't get the same natural lifespan as Sammy, and spent so much of it putting up with shit.

  • adamthegreat@live.co.uk he aint dead! prove!!!!!

  • BIGGEST ARTIST OF EVER !!!!!

  • legend recognize legend

  • 1:00 God bless Sammy D.

  • 2:27 that pretty much sums up the greatness of these two performers. Both wonderful people that cared deeply about one another.

  • I love you Michael...

  • Very very beautiful..!!!!!

  • That is Love.

  • This is so sad. Mike didn't even have a chance to make it to 60 years old. God Bless all the musicians and singers who paved the way

  • @MrsMichaelJackson24 the media is the very force that made MJ. Um, pity the fool?

  • @illnacord you like blowojb???

  • What a brilliant artist.....Michael Jackson, we miss you very much.

  • many performers have an absolute contempt for the public. Pearls before swine. Sammy had to be talked out of quitting by Frank

  • @MrsMichaelJackson24

you live in a fantasy world. he was a BRILLIANT entertainer, but an extremely immature gay man.

  • @djf750 HA HA HA HA HAAAA! thanks for the joke!

  • @djf750 Ah shaddap.

  • This is amazing. Thanks so much for posting!

  • L.O.V.E as Michael always said. Man I miss MJ. Although Sammy Davis Jr was way before my time I'm pretty sure he was great also.

  • The man has talent and stage skills'He's good to look at as aperformer. His stage presence is just great.

  • It brought tears to my eyes. Everything he sang he sang with so much passion it just overwhelms you. Love you Michael!

  • ya kno, as messed up as a life as MJ had, he was truly a beautiful singer, and i believe that with him, died the true art of performing. back then, you could go to a concert and truly get a show. i feel that now, that is basically gone

  • wow sammy really paved the way 4 michael and it was so nice2 see how sammy was so good 2 michael :)

  • Show business love. From the bottom baby. From the bottom.

  • i'm glad i was alive when he was alive to experience him and not feel like he was a myth :]

  • goosebumps. just beautiful!

  • make it right for Michael.....go to mjtruthnow com

  • On the shoulders of Giants. Artists like Sammy Davis, Jr. and James Brown paved a way for our Michael to shine so brightly. Now Michael took it to a higher level to pave a way for today's artists.

These great showmen are gone now but their legacies will last for generations. So take a bow in Heaven my brothers for a JOB WELL DONE. Rest from thy loved employ: The battle fought, the victory won, Enter thy Master's joy.

  • That was beautiful. :)

  • @Bfoots i might sing this song and put it on my video

  • @Bfoots Excellent man. Well said!

  • @Bfoots wonderfully said!!! and he understood his role and worked so hard to be the best he could be...

  • He was such as... as 8th Miracle of The World... I love You Mike

  • i love him!what year was this?

  • February 4, 1990.

  • words just arent enough to explain this beauty, passion, honor, kindness, LOVE, just exuding from within his soul, like the brightest, most beautiful glowing light i've ever seen, so powerul that it ignites my soul. and now shining so bright, exploding with love and happiness in Heaven.

  • So sweet

  • Oh.....My......GOD!!!

    Love him even more now!

  • I'm sooo crying right now. This is really sad.....

    :'(

  • i miss both of them...

  • Hört sich voll toll an..:)

  • Bravo!!! Bravo!!!

  • This makes me Cry Two Legends Sadly Missed!!!

  • An absolutely beautiful song sung by an angelic voice. A completely transfixed audience. An emotional honoree. What a perfect moment. And Michael Jackson decides to end the peformance by grabbing his CROTCH???. *shakes head*

  • The look on Sammy's face at the 1:02 mark tells it all.

  • So Evan Chandler is dead for his family i offer my thoughts, But did you give a thought to MJ,s family when he pssed ?? I,m guessing not so i hope yur family thinks about its actions over the years and both people can rest in peace

  • You can tell Michael was getting his dose of good eating, it looked like he had a small double chin forming lol...but he still looked goood! Man I wish he would come back. I sttill can't believe he's gone. He for represented a time in my life when I was young, having fun, and not having adult responsibilities, like bills and such...ugh bring MJ back!

  • A song bird, what a beautiful vocal MJ has. Sure miss him more.

  • Pitch Perfect Maestro

  • Comment removed

  • WOW that was incredible. I'm glad I got to see this video. I have never even seen this before in my life. Fantastic.

Michael you are beautiful, you opened doors too just like Sammy and all the rest. God bless you and may you always RIP MJ. We love you always.

    God that was magical.

  • This was actually Sammy's 60th Anniversary in show business, not his 60th birthday

  • that makes more since

  • BEAUTIFUL. Missing you so much today, Michael. Thank you for posting this. I'll return to this often.

  • Thank you for this...

  • it's called: you were there

  • whats the name of this song

  • I think they didn't need words to share feelings, memories or thoughts. They could read each others minds. And it's always phenomenal when one Genius shows his respect to another Genius!!

  • I did a song for him called he is gone take a look in my channel

the man is gone but the legend live

inside of our hearts almost a child

with a pure heart he had a life full of pain

and we will always remember the day that him goes away

our peter pan is in heaven

    neverland now is real

if you care pray for him

    becouse he is gone

  • You can see sammy getting all emotional!

  • He looks a little different here. I didnt know he had a double chin.. is this when he was losing more weight?

  • he didnt have one..he was always slim and he never had to lose weight.....

  • @IrishPersonDeadly He has one in the video. You can see it under his chin. You're right, he was always thin, but in later years, the under part of his chin was tighter.. and it wasn't a double chin

  • Beautiful, he was beautiful. Love you Michael so much.

  • legends never dies!

  • What I really like that his hair isn't in his face. We can really see his beautiful face.

  • Look at the Sammy Davis's eyes...he's almost crying,listening that amazing,touching performance.

  • WOW . . . absolutely LEGENDARY!

  • Yep. two legends. RIP MJ & Sammie D.

  • Yes, Sammie did open doors for other black entertainers.

Did you know that back in the day, when Sammie would be performing at a hotel.. he was not allowed to stay at that hotel because he was black. He had to stay somewhere else, perform, then go. So ridiculous!!!

  • very true along with billie holliday, dorothy dandrige and others in the struggle......

  • Oh yes, all those people helped open the door. My mom had told me about Sammy Davis.. how he wasn't allowed to stay at the hotels he'd perform in. He had to go to "black" area hotels. It's so outrageous! I love MJ's performance here. This song is short, but has quite a meaning. rip mj ily.

  • Hoofhearted321...it is so sad, but it is so true. My mom used to tell me that she'd have to sit on the back of the bus--back in the day. She's gone to heaven now, but she said that Sammy Davis Jr. & Dorthy Dandridge opened a lot of doors in entertainment--just so that fools like Lil Wayne can disrespect us now...its a shame. MJ opened a lot of doors for young blacks too...but its so sad he doesnt get the REAL RECOGNITION he deserves...maybe one day he will...**sigh**

  • Ebbiesart: I know.. I'm caucasian, but back in my mom's day, she remembers the segregation. And even back then, she couldn't understand it. She hated it. And she (and my dad) raised us to understand how horribly black people were treated. Yes, I believe Sammy (and others) got their foot in the door.. then kicked it open for other black entertainers to walk through. Michael was also one who took that door off its hinges.

  • Hoofhearted321...thanks. So many others were treated so cruely back then, & today its still the same in a sense. The media hunted MJ like he was an animal. And when MJ died, I remember hearing some of the older white folks at my job saying "Im glad that black molester died". It really hurt my soul, because MJ was human. He made mistakes, just like we all do. He enjoyed simpler things, & its just astonshing to hear people, even in his death, ridicule him. Hes gone now, they should let him RIP.

  • Ebbie: Oh, I agree! they did hunt him like an animal. It was sickening. It hurts me too when I hear people or read posts of hateful things about MJ or saying they're glad he's dead. I run a business, and when MJ died, I was so upset, and if a customer said anything negative.. I'd let em have it (politely of course! lol). And now with Evan Chandler committing suicide.. that speaks volumes about MJ's innocense (as if we didn't know!).

  • what evan chandler commited suicide ??-i dont know how i missed that in the british press press - gonna google that now!!

  • WIniver: Yes, Evan (the father who accused MJ), has committed suicide. I believe he shot himself

    in the head.

He unfortunately didn't leave a note. However, my opinion is... having Michael's blood on his

hands was too much to bear.

THey say he was really sick, so maybe that's why. But I'm not so sure. I'm actually not surprised he committed suicide.. I'm surprised it took this long.

  • That was so beautiful.

  • God Michael you are outstandingly beautiful!!! I love you sooooooooooo much my angel xxx

  • this is sooo beautiful!!! Love you for ever MJ

  • Great , Michael is legendary forever
