And if Eric still smokes cigarettes, eww, how smelly awful is that and bad for the voice, and if he still does smoke cigarettes, isn't that an addiction? I wonder if he still smokes cigarettes as in some video of him smoking a cigarette or two... uh...and has a hole in his guitar especially put there so he can place the cigarette there while he is playing guitar.

I don't want to touch on your other posts as I believe EC's blues playing in the 90's and early 2000's was when he was at his strongest as a guitar player. However, he doesn't still smoke, and there is no hole in his guitar, or any for that matter, especially for a cigarette. On some guitars you're able to place one inbetween the headstock and the strings.

@SmokeyJesus Well, that is good to know that Eric does not smoke anymore. How do you know this? Anyway, he looks better with long hair, and not so much like Homer Simpson, when he grows his hair long. When his hair is short with that strange beard, that's when he looks like Homer Simpson. He looks good now, even younger, in that Fender Cell phone commercial, with the longer hair and the very nice young wardrobe look. Good for Eric.

I read it some where. To be quite honest I can't recall if it was in an interview he said it or his autobiography.

@Bitchen60s Clapton mentioned in an interview on here somewhere that he hadn't smoked, since I think 1986. Whatever the date, he has stopped smoking for over twenty years.

@drummerboyjac That's great. I hope he never takes up smoking again. I remember smoking when I was younger and it was so hard to stop, but I did, and never smoked again. I can't stand stinky smoke on guys' clothes or on their breath, not to mention how bad it is for one's health. Like Denis Leary still smokes, and I can imagine how he smells, his clothes, his hair, eww. Still he's funny. Glad to hear Eric Clapton does not smoke anymore.

I agree somewhat with imfondo. The new music by Eric seems to be going nowhere, as if there is no specific direction.  In Cream though I believe they were all equally talented.
