GORILLA GLASS IS JUST A MARKETING PROPAGANDA. I purchaseed DEFY in Bangalore, India on 13aug. Still in warranty. Things were fine till y'day evening when the phone slipped from my hand and touched the floor(hardly 1ft). I noticed hairline fracture on screen. The service center told 'PHYSICAL DAMAGE WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY' Alas!
And asked to pay INR 4000 to get the glass replaced. Planning to buy a motorola product in India ? If something went wrong.. you will at your own.
now put that glass on a phone and drop it from 5 feet off the ground and see if it breaks.....my old phone had it and it broke in the first week as it fell off the couch.
Stupid! Nobody is worried about putting pressure on their phones/tablets and having the glass break. Its more like drops, scratches from keys, everyday use. Do some real life tests. And if you break down the weight times the velocity of that 3 point ball and the impact area... there really isnt that much pressure being applied. If you used a 3 pound cylinder with any sort of point on it, it would break that glass the first hit.
it's like... plastic....... i need that

@bigal505original
thats silly bullet proof glass works by cracking and dispersing the energy not stopping it dead and resisting the force completely.

The polycarbonate glass is 0.1mm thick and the gorilla glass is 1cm thick.
