So why make a LoS movie when you can put the cutscenes together and have something just as good if not better. I mean, one of the producers did Eragon, for goodness sake. And the rest of the staff, the director, producers and writers all had straight-to-DVD resumes. Nearly all of them were either involved in Doctor Doolittle or a Garfield movie. I'm glad the LoS movie got canceled!

The original Spyro series was far better than this was. I never liked those games that focus entirely on combat. Like this one.

Spyro has always been a great series, but when the Legend of Spyro came, that's when I became a huge fan of Spyro. The soundtrack in all three Legend of Spyro games was just fantastic.

@JJO902 - Sorry to burst your bubble but these games and the predecessors are two totally different universes. I don't know why there weren't any child dragons around Spyro's age in the original ps1 games but there are a few purple dragons. If I recall correctly, there is a purple and blue dragon located in a hidden area in the Ice Caves in the Peacemaker land.

@GeminiVersion02 I'm pretty sure this legend of series was intended as a prequel/reboot to the original trilogy. It is a prequel because spyro was younger then he was in the original trilogy and we got to see his origin. As for the reboot aspect there are a few changes that were made for this new story Like changing when and how spyro met hunter and your point about purple dragons. But there weren't many of them and we didn't see any beyond the first game and spyro was the only one from then on

@JJO902 - I'm going to have to disagree with you. If it was a prequel then how do you explain the lack of portals like in the original series? If this was related in any possible way, it would have the portals and it would be in the Dragon Worlds like the Artisans, MagicCrafters, Beast Makers, etc. If this were a true prequel/reboot then it would have more things in common with the original trilogy. So, the evidence supports my theory of it being totally different.

@GeminiVersion02 Well Ignitus does mention that they are in the dragon realms. Since the 4 guardians spyro and cynder are the only dragons we see during this trilogy I think it's safe to say the games storyline takes place in isolated sparsely populated areas which is why we don't see any other dragons who probably live in the areas you mention from the original games. As for the portals when spyro went through them he ended up flying to where he was going. So in the new games he just flew.

@JJO902 - Look, if they wanted this to be like the original games then they would have portals instead of making Spyro fly every where. Also, how do you explain the storyline? When exactly do these events occur? Spyro is still a young dragon when he goes and saves the dragons in the original series while he ends up frozen for some years and looks older in the final game of the new series. Plus, between games 1 & 2 of the new series, he has no powers. Ergo, the two series don't mesh properly.

@GeminiVersion02 My point was even with the portals from the original games everytime he walked through them you saw him flying to where he was going. The first game in the new trilogy could very well take place before the events of the original trilogy. But him getting trapped in the end of the second game and the time skip in the third game where his older don't fit with the timeline. But if the series continued they might have redid the original trilogy with a new story to make everything fit

It doesn't matter that you say that they might have because they didn't. Ergo, the events which occur in the new trilogy happen in a new world as nothing adds up. Also, you do realize your just going in circles, right? None of this adds up! If they wanted to make everything fit then they would've taken into account everything from the previous games!

@GeminiVersion02 The only two points you made were about the portals which really isn't that a big a deal that they left them out because spyro can fly everywhere. And the one or two purple dragons that popped up in the first game. After that they seemed to retcon their existence out because we didn't see any other purple dragons from Riptos rage onward and it was heavily implied that spyro was the only one. So I say it fits pretty well with the exception of hunters new first appearance.

@JJO902 Apparently, you can't count as I have made three points. The last one being the STORY. There is no pause between the new trilogy games. They are all consecutive, each one carrying off where the last one stopped. The reason behind there being no purple dragons in Ripto's Rage is because of the fact that it takes place in Avalon. While there is a purple dragon in the opening and closing sequences of Spyro 3: The Year of The Dragon. Go watch the cutscenes and tell me if I'm wrong.

@GeminiVersion02 I didn't count your story complaint because you didn't give an actual reason for it aside from "it doesn't fit" which isn't much of an argument when you don't give reasons why. I am well aware of the consecutive story in the new trilogy. My point is that since it takes place so close together with the exception of the time gap at the end of the second game, that it is possible it takes place before Spyro's confrontation with Nasty Norc.

I´ll be honest here, I kinda don´t like these new Spyro games, I mean, they totally jumped out from the first trilogy´s storyline. It used to be like a "childish" game and it turned into something like the "Lord of the Rings". Really, no offense for the ones who like them, it´s just a thought I wanted to express, even tho I haven´t played these new games.

its just evolution.... Yeah the Original Spyro Games Were Great but because i grew up along side it, i kind of like the fact he grows up too as the new games come out ( of course i still play) Anyways I Love this new age of spyro because the graphics are awesome, the neat ablilities and we actually interact with the elders sort of... Yeah its more fighting then collecting gems but for all we know they may make more spyro games that go back to the original story line
