Awe....Your cat is so gentle with the hamster...so sweet. I just got a hamster a few days ago and let him roam the house...You have to be careful he doesn't go under the door of your home.....If you have an apartment that the door leads to the hallway he can escape that way. I am buying a HUGE cage for him so hopefully he will be happy and I let him out an hour a day for play time. :-)
the cat came into the house as a kitten. so the dog and cat play together all the time...when the hamster kept getting out i would have to chase the cat away to cath the hamster. after doing that a few times, i saw the dog chasing the cat away... now that he roams free the cat just plays and won't hurt him.

I can't even imagine letting a hamster roam the house freely. Though I once met someone who had pet rats that they let roam free around the house.
