@anThOneeLLiiThaaP I prefer Rachele Gilmore's performance a bit more than Kim's. While they are both fantastic, I feel like the addition of high notes every so often in Rachele's performance really added something to the song that makes the performance spectacular.

Sorry, the tone has only one color, and there is no beauty in the sound. Even the trills are hard on the ears. After the high notes fade, there won't be much left. These days anyone that can scream high notes is held up as a star.

Yeah, this was not only the greatest opera production I've ever seen or been a part of - it was the greatest performance of ANY KIND that I've ever seen in my life. I don't have words to describe how affected I was by this. It was beyond brilliant. Kate Lindsey was perfect as Nicklausse. Joseph Calleja was first-rate as Hoffmann. Anna Netrebko is, well, Anna Netrebko! And Kathleen Kim was simply ineffable. She was the doll that you wanted to put in a box and take home with you when it was over.

I remember seeing this opera on TV a few months ago at my sister's in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep. This was my favorite part, and I've been looking for a video of it, but couldn't recall who performed it. :D

It still gives me goosebumps.
