  • How much did the 38s weigh?

  • Jack, if you happen to know, curious why MGA just didn't order SD38s? Too much curvature in the pre-self steering trucks era for 6 axles?

Great vid as always! thanks for sharing!

  • I was trying to find the area where the train was traveling but could not find it. Can you tell me the location? Sure is beautiful... thank you

  • @GeeGee7 Do a Mapquest, Waynesburg, PA. Take 21w, to 18n. thats Brownsville Rd, to Paterson Creek, Rd, to Mccolum, Rd, to Strington, Rd. Go under railroad, park, hike up the embankment, and walk south about 1/4 mile. Get up on the side of the hill, and your there. Watch for snakes in the high brush. It is a beautiful spot, and the photo of this spot that I took, sat on the President of the railroads desk for many years. Thanks for watching...

  • @1jackdk, wow! thank you for all the info. Wish I could go there, but am about 2500 miles away :) Guess I will visit by google earth :) I didn't see photo.. is it in the vid? Snakes Yikes!

  • wow filmed seven days after i was born.

  • Was this line new at the time? The embankments all look as though they were built recently.

  • @GeoffBlackmore Yes it was. Maybe 6-8 years old at this time. Thanks for watching...

  • horse shoe curve near by?

  • @burtman12 No! About 2 1/2 NE of here!

  • Excellent video. A gorgeous location.

  • This is outstanding, this units are relics nowaday's. Hope you can post some of the hard notch 8 runnings from Time soon enough Jack.. By chance, did you ever shoot the MGA's old sharks?

  • Awesome video Jack. Like watching the Monongahela in my backyard. Its great to see MGA stuff. Was this the very first run of the Super 7's?

  • @NSHorseheadSD70 Glad you enjoyed it, and yes, it was the first trip for the Super 7's. We had gotten them at several spots before this location. I will have to put on more MGA stuff. I have some cab ride stuff, and I think I may even have a clip with the MGA GP7's. But all that stuff is on other VHS tapes that need to be down loaded yet. Thanks for watching. Jackmp294...

  • SOOOOOOOPER Seven! Great catch! Saw one of these former Mon units on Conrail several years back.

  • @ble643 Nice to know they are still around. Thanks for watching...

  • @1jackdk

Why are they called Super 7's?

  • @CarNutandTrainNut2 I think it's because the loco is called a DASH 7.

  • Great scenery; almost looks like a park.

  • Very nice! Did u happen to take a photo that made it into Trains Magazine, I have an issue that has a photo at this spot similar to this scene.
