Albrecht's 'limitless pie' ideas about capitalism seem naive. Sure, everyone CAN be successful, but not everyone WILL be successful. For there to be winners there have to be losers, and for that reason the pie HAS to be limited. Digg won't roll over and die as a result of this horrible new direction but its slice of the pie has shrunk (check the alexa.com stats) due to people like me moving over to reddit.

props to Kevin for addressing the communities concerns like this, but I think it maybe should have come a little sooner... A week is a long time on the internet and that's allowed a lot of hate and mistrust to fester.

I never did think that the redesign was motivated purely for profit, but I still think it was pretty misguided. Digg literally lost its relavence over night, and there's still a long way to go in terms of damage control.

Why didn't Mr Rose consider keeping the old Digg (without the damned bury feature) and have this new Publisher's site as well? It seems so simple. Two sites. Now, he's losing hoards of Diggers, me included, and the publicity he's getting is not good.

Just in case, Kevin Rose might be bored and read this....No one likes the new Digg except for Mashable and one or two commenters here. I spent hours a day on Digg and now? 10 minutes a day tops.
