What puzzles me is that while this is the initiative and effort of a humble, poor man who is trying to make a difference for 200 kids in his village, the rich Colombian families, on the other hand, those who could make a huge difference by sponsoring programs and building infraestructure to help educate the poor (the very same people they exploit), would rather invest their money to send their kids to private overly expensive schools in the big cities, or aborad, and simply look the other way.

it is in fact a good idea, but you need to consider that it is only good to have a laptop if you knew what a book is first. Also it is not that affordable, and many books cannot be found in the internet. Besides, laptops have to be renewed over the time, and the most important thing, these people barely have electricity sometimes. they do not have money for internet, internet does not reach these places. they have no idea what a computer is. Their parents dont know how to read
