@616morgoth@TheArtisticGirl1 Marie's Wedding is a Scottish song, not Irish. it was written in Scottish Gaelic, and wasn't translated into English until the early 1900's.
Songs which were originally Scottish...can still make people want to be Irish (when sung by Irish singers, for instance). ^_^
However...while you're mentioning corrections and such...I've got one...the song is (or originally was) "Mairi's Wedding" and not "Marie's Wedding". (Mairi, a Scottish lassie, not Marie, a French mademoiselle.)
I couldn't figure out what song "Marie's Wedding" was, until I clicked on it and heard it...then I thought, oh, they mean "Mairi's Wedding"!
A friend of mine heard this song in a store she was in and decided I would like it, so she linked it to me when she got home... And I absolutely love it. Makes me so happy I feel like crying tears of joy.. =3
@cheystan0629 I've always known this as a Scottish song, but I suppose there's a lot of crossover between Scottish/Irish music. It's all Celtic after all I suppose... :)
This is one of the songs my dad used to sing to my brother and I when we were younger. It's been a few years since I heard him sing it, I'll need to get him to sing it soon! This is a lovely song and I like their voices :D
@SilentEvil5 hey, I'm a Slipknot fan too, and I also love this song! what's so weird about that? are people only allowed to like one genre of music or something?
idk, Slipknotfan84, Celtic Thunder is a little better in my opinion. I love them both, but it's hard to compete with Keith Harkin & that gorgeous hair of his. =) (Not to mention their awesome voices!)
this is my heritage man, I love this!!! :D

@KittyStarlight It was a typo. My laptop corrects Mairi to Marie. I am fully aware it is Mairi, as a native Gaelic speaker.
