  • this isn't a video on how to fix cds

    wtf

  • @luigismansion64 this is a request to mythbusters to bust this myth that toothpaste can fix scrached dics

  • Seriously.. It works. My GTA SA had like a million scratches then i did this and it worked.

  • nothing f'in works for scratched cds ever. i think its dumb to try. i even tried the cleaners and buffers and shit. the only one i have done is the one that shaves off the top layer. but no this toothpaste thing doesnt EVER work for me.

  • LOL honestly I swear to god.

I just did this 5 seconds ago with my Starcraft CD and by God it worked somehow.

Lol I was skeptical but hey now I can play SC again xD

  • USE PLASTX, It's made bu mguires, you can get it at an auto care store or hardware like ACE. I bought it first for my motorcycle plastic windshield, it worked like crystal clear so i tried it on CDs it did great.

  • i went to block buster to ask to repair my blu ray disc but they said it might damage my game

  • HERE'S HOW TO DO IT!!!!!!!

Delete System 32 in your computer.

  • dindt work just got som wierd error ..

  • no dont do this it destroys your computer

  • try using a cotton swab and water

  • banana is hard to believe. But Toothpaste works, sometimes. IT's the light abrasives in toothpaste (Preferably baking soda tootpaste) that buff out the disk. If your discs are deeply scratched, or have lipped craters like my SIm2 EP discm then it's not going to work

  • Only works on light scratches, like you said, but the most important part wiping it off with a soft damp cloth going from the center of the disc to the edges, all in straight lines. If you go in a circle at any point, even by accident, you'll end up scratching the disc worse. Alternately, consider using the case; that's what it's there for.

  • tooth paste is a very mild abaraive... it should if anything damge the cd more.,..

frankly i think its a myth that a scratched disk can be repaired at all.

a dirty disk can be saves posibly but not a scratched one.

  • To what extent does this method work? I've got some disks with full circle scratches on em.

  • i remeba u i saw this vid like a long time ago and i tried wat u sed exactly u just spoiled ma cd thnx alot!!!!!

  • i would like to know the best way to fix scratched discs, our games are all scratched to hell

this would be a good one to test

  • some video game stores have scrtch removal machines, look into it.

  • yeh ive been telling ppl to use toothpaste for a while now :D great for dvd too

  • This one is actually true. I used it to get a videogame running that had been pretty horribly scratched. You can actually buy CD repair stuff that is paste-like, but it is probably cheaper to use toothpaste. If you use a very soft toothbrush you can even use that to apply the paste and make sure it gets in there. DO NOT use stiff bristle brushes or it will get worse. Don't rinse the thing with water either, use something non-abrasive to wipe the excess off. Think of it like waxing a car.

  • this works i have done it and i nade pretty deep scratches tho it didn't make htose deep scratchs great it certainly made it a LOT better

  • this is a cool one.

  • i found this stuff at officemax that repairs them. it kinda works. i'd like something better though

  • Yeah I'd like to find this one out, I've heard it works, but after a while the problem is worse, so it's like a temporary thing.

  • Exact Audio Copy or other science-based software would be a good alternative to this folklore approach. Software can actually measure the data errors that people can't hear all that well. And software can be used to correct many of the data errors. It wouldn't be too hard to do comparison tests as far as data errors go. But listening tests are very subjective. Many people just wouldn't hear the difference.

  • i hear that if you use cheez whiz on a bloodstain on a shirt it will get it out

  • how do you clean ps1 game i really wana play crash bandicoot

  • i am just doing it on another ps1 game while im typing. let me know if you wanna know the result

  • My friend told me to use whiteboard pens.

It worked out alright, but didn't last very long.

  • peanut butter is for when the gearshift in your car jams you can lubricate it with either peanutbutter or jelly

  • i HOPE this becomes a tested myth.....i have a game CD that won't work!(actually maybe 5)

  • I LOVE UR TITLE!! Longest title i've ever seen lol.

  • XD lawl

  • wow can the title be a little longer?

  • i heard peanut butter works not sure thou

  • no i think peanut butter is for getting gum out of hair but idk maybe for cds too

  • Car polish works well too.

  • Actually, I've never heard of the toothpaste banana method but car polish really works. Not deep scratches but the minor ones that can keep from being read or skip. Just apply like you would with a car. Let dry to a haze and buff. No kidding!

  • well ya most major car wax companies use banana oil in there products

  • No wonder i'm always licking my car!!! Okay, that sounded very wrong! Zymol is some damn good car polish though!

  • it works! tried it myself...

  • harsh dude o.o

  • CHEESE

  • does sand paper work?

  • yeah it worked for me once! great stuff!

    :O

  • stupid retard

  • Yes, works very well.

  • tooth paste is a mild abrasive.. so yes

  • epiic08 is a 10 year old who thinks using the word "niggers" makes him super cool.

  • yeah that works too lol

  • Whats that? oh yeah its your mamma asking for you to go to bed with your chocolate.! :)

  • you can also use peanut butter

  • it realy works! I use it all the time to fix CDs

  • some people use bananna peels also, does the tooth paste work better?

  • it's all about wax on, wax off. yep turtle wax works for me.

  • furniture polish works well also

  • Yea thats what I use

  • If it is scratched bad nothing will work, because you have scratched away the data, Therefore nothing can be done.

  • wrong. learn what you're talking about before you comment

  • I THINK YES

  • you can use glade air fresher for your cds

  • i spit on it and rub it with my t-shirt, disgusting i know, but it works every time.

  • That'd only work with dust/dirt though. This is more filling in gaps.

  • it works i've done it a ton of times, it makes big scratches small, small scratches gone, and if it skips or doesnt work it usually will work after you use toothpaste

  • I often use Dawn dish soap on scratched DVDs when they stop working. It works almost every time.

  • it fills in the scratches but i think it wont work becuz the memory will be erased

  • oops ment to put this on jaella08's comment

  • i don't get it.

  • a ha I'd never put tooth paste onto my cd's I respect them much to do that...

  • so did it work...?

  • thats not his vid hes just asking myth busters to do it cuz the vid might be a fake
