WD-40 doesn't lubricate that well, it only leaves a small film of mineral oil which probably isn't enough for these cars. It's great for cleaning it though, it's just like cleaning an engine with lighter fuel. I always leave the WD-40 to dry out well overnight and then add a little extra machine oil.
WD40 isnt a lubricant at all its a solovent so your hurting it more then anything.
