The top and bottom of it is this.....THE PLANET IS WAY TO FULL.
Always look at the BIGGER picture. Population control is going to be an important new factor in the 2nd half of the 21st Century, If the Human race is to survive, And TOUGH new rules will have to be made. THE PLANET CAN NOT support 7 BILLION people
@sweetypie000 Too right. And if they need our cash so badly for aid how can they afford 30 second advertisement slots on national telly.I don't trust charity.
@Caspers187 Actually, if you look at the annual report that Oxfam puts out on their finances, they are well ahead of many charities for putting the majority of donations directly 'into the field.' Like any good organization however, they recognize that there must be a strong infrastructure (administration) and raising awareness for more support is key to continuing to do the good work they do (public education). Also, lots of TV space and ad creation is in part donated or volunteer-based work.
Humans are being just that, so what's the point? Politicians are being Politicians, thieves are being thieves, priests are being priests, we are all being involved one way or another. Ying and Yang are inseparable. There's no Good without Evil and vice-versa. So I ask again. What is the point??
We need more advertising like this to wake people up. I know you could have the advert diffrent but the main thing is to get the message out there. We all need to be humankind no doubt about that with the way this planet going and the people living on it!
the creaters of the advert have turned the white stuff coming out of everyones mouth (where they look at the injustice bug) to the word NO! in red so that u really no whats goin on
Injustice isn't a physical monster, and though this animation is a good mechanism for opening people's eyes, the point is not to brain wash them into seeing things like this. you cant open your mouth and shoot plasma at problems. This animation insinuates that all you have do is use your voice. What happens when the injustice monster is making people rich. then the rich will defend the monster and shoot the plasma at the old lady.
Thank you so much for telling us that we can't shoot plasma at giant injustice monsters. We wouldn't have realised this hadn't you posted the comment.
Maybe so, but I think that this advert is also tryign to say that if one person tries to stop injustice like this, then more will follow, and that it only takes a small action to help, and one person to start. People need a leader, they're afraid to do spontaneous things, and need someone to follow.
I LOVE this advert. Reminds me of Tim Burtons movie style. I acctualy thought he had done it to begin with lol. Really good way of expressing the wrongs of the world that we can fix so easliy. 5*+favs!!
lol erm. yeah. i see. i just don't really get the thing with it coming out of their mouths lol i think it should've been done differently, to make it not seem as if they were puking all over the problem with magical dust. :)
I'd love this advert to work - and by work I mean get people giving money, buying fairtrade and getting active politically. But If the comments here are anything to go by, I'm not sure if it will. Apart from Muse fans and people promoting the advertising agency or their own music there isn't that much from people actually getting involved. If this ad spawns a number of others by Oxfam in the same style I'll guess we'll know it has worked, if not, I'll guess its back to what we know works.
i think so too. however, my class are doing our media coursework based on this advert and my class know how important it is to stop poverty and find cures and stop injustice and think that this is a really good way of portraying the advert. It's like once you speak out and take some action, things sart getting better. I think that gradually, things will change for the good.
Hey, if anyone is interested I have composed a NEW music track to this advert. although the muse track is awesome and fits perfectly. I saw the advert and loved the animation so much I wanted to compose my own music to it. I would love to know what you think. Thanks for you time

I'd also be interested in knowing if anyone out there has composed a new music track to this video. I'd love to hear it if you have.

Can I ask people whether this would make them join oxfam?
I think it's a bit, well, stupid. this issue is about people dying from lack of water, food and medicine, it's about poor people being exploited and oxfam has a cartoon of people vomiting over a big lump of sludge called injustice. It's the sort of thing you'd do in a school art class to be different. Has it made you join? I'd love to know...
