  • how many ways is there to tie a bow tie?

  • Rofl. Amazing how many people call any random knot a half-windsor, even though they don't look like Windsor knots at all!

    Great videos :)

  • This is the knot I've used for years -- thought I was tying a "Pratt," not realizing it is actually a "Nicky" knot. Personally, my favorite. The "ideal" knot:

    - easy to tie,

    - perfect size (medium) knot,

    - great shape and symmetry,

    - self-releasing.

  • dude every knot youve tied looks the same

  • full windsor this guy makes up names for knots psh.. dumbass

  • @TheMorningComes not even close to a full windsor bro.. or a half for that matter.

  • whats the knot that looks like a small square?

  • all tie knots look the same to me, seriously

  • @Telltolin Then you're idiot.

  • i agree with DVS69 but i mean im no tie expert

  • pratt knot but with small different<<

    who discover it ??

  • think this one is self-releasing and the pratt is not - correct me if i'm wrong

  • looks just like a half-windsor to me??

  • the guy in this video, how does he memorize all those knots?!

  • I'm looking for the tie knot, which makes the knot actually stand a little bit forward. It's most common used on three-piece suit. Anyone knows which one it is?

  • Comment removed

  • not quite the nicky comes out a little more square at the bottom where the pratt is pointier.

  • I can't not get it right & very tricky.

  • The pratt is an easier but very similar knot

  • =o!! this one is so easy!!

  • This by far is my favorite one. Medium sized, symmetrical, pretty simple to do.

  • awesome i just learned how to tie a tie

  • agreed

  • they all look the same

  • I just stubbled across all these videos. I didn't realise how many ways there is it do a tie!

  • your cool man

  • this is the only tie demonstration i understood and i got it

    thx it helped alot

  • you are awesome

  • this looks exactly like the pratt.

  • are you watchingthese out of boredom too ?

  • yes i am

  • lmaoo uypp its like 4 am

  • yea I got no life.

  • yes this video was really good and it actualy made a very pretty knot, thankyou~

  • interesting... seems easier than other methods... now i'd like to know when to make a dimple and how to make it kinda effective...

  • I actually learned from this video. You didn't go too fast or too slow. Thanks so much for the help.

  • wow, there i was thinking there was only two ways to tie a tie..thanks!

  • Just saying thanks for ALL the videos

  • My pleasure!

    :-)

  • Perfect...just perfect.

Thanks for all these videos, they are excellent!

  • Question: I've used the pratt for years (small knot better fit for my narrow collar shirts and also imho less showy/formal so its suited daily use, while still being symmetric), but I happened to stumble upon this video. You mention that the nicky is related to the pratt, and the tying method is very similar. I was wondering what the differences would be in the size and looks? I can't really tell. Thanks

  • Hi,

The top part of the Pratt knot is slightly wider than the Nicky.

  • What build or look is the nicky knot best used for?

  • One of my favorites! Personally, I think its the easiest out of all of them, and one of the best ones too.

  • That's a half windsor. When was called a nicky knot?

  • It's not a Half Windsor. But you have a point, It is very close. It has one less move than the Half Windsor because I am tying it inverted (with the seam showing in the beginning). It looks just like the Half Windsor, but is slightly smaller.

  • Ah yes. Now I see the difference. Very good. Nice job.

  • this is an awesome knot. all you haters out there just wish you had an office job!

  • this knot is shitty but nice vid

  • Can he talk?

  • this is just the four in hand knot with the tie turned backwards

  • he's probably james bond, he knows all the knots

  • this is the same as half winsdor knot!

  • Who came up with these names? I gotta teach my kids about the birds and the bees, why grown people work, and the dozens of ways to tie a tie.....YouTube please be here in 15 years!!!

  • i need some ties for summer 2008

  • AAHH!! success!! 2 tries for the tie and it tied well! sweet!

  • its way to hard

  • I cant self release this one, is it suppose to be like that?

  • Yes.

  • What is meant by "self release"?

  • when you pull the narrow end out, the broad end does not tie into a knot and self releases into a complete tie again.

  • kamwood11: Tie a double-windsor. Just loop twise instead of once! Pretty simple! You'll need a long tie for that one!

  • kamwood11: Tie a double-windsor. Just loop twise instead of once! Pretty simple! You'll need a loon tie for that one!

  • love this one :D looks great and is easy

  • How can I tie a tie with one of those real wide fat knots?

  • Do they have a Mortal Comabt Knot?

If they do I want to KNOW!!

  • LMFAO

  • I'm trying to find a knot that makes almost a perfect \/ shape at the knott.

My 8th grade teacher showed me quite some time ago, yet i forgot...

    Any help?

  • Your'e probably thinking of the Windsor knot. The St. Andrew knot has also a nice "V" shape, but more narrow than the Windsor.

  • wuts the difference between this one and all the others? they look exactly the same to me...

  • The "Pratt" is a medium sized symmetric knot. The others are either larger, smaller or/and asymmetrical. There really is a big difference. The thing to do is to find four, five of your favorite ties, and try the different knots on each of them to see which knot suits. Some ties are thick, some thin, some wide and so on. Also the collar is important. A wide collar should have the large "Windsor" knot. A narrow collar should have the smaller and elongated "Pratt" knot. Good luck! :-)

  • damn cool knot and very easy too!

  • definately looks the best

  • this is the easiest one!!

    yeah!

    i can tie a tie!

  • ure so gay writing those things your mum is not exactly gonna die is she!!!
