  • cracking vid! nice gearchanges and beautiful truck... she certainly seems to bob along nicely!

  • A nice looking old girl very nice

  • what weight would she pull?

  • @fj9fl61 When used as the drive tractor for an artic unit the total weight would have been 32tons the maximum allowable on UK roads at that time. J.

  • @vinylseat thank you for that.but i presume ,with decent traction, she would pull more?

  • @fj9fl61 the weight rating was what the legal maximum for the time was... given good grip on tarmac trucks will pull considerably more!

  • @nrs91 thanks.

  • Thats made my day! I love it!

  • that is one sweet ride! thanks for posting.

  • Some nice slick gear changes there John, not a crunch anywhere.

Lovely engine sound too with that nice deep rumbling purr.

    Top video mate!

  • @WeaponsGradeMarmite Thanks WGM. To be honest after driving modern lorries and then driving this old 'proper' lorry I do manage to clip a gear from time to time. The Gardner is very slow revving so you have to take your time with changes. Regular drivers of these Knights of the road often used to say that they used to 'roll a fag' between changes. If you appreciate classic lorries they are fantastic to drive but could be tiring in todays road conditions. The drivers 'GYM' of yester year. J
