Farrell and Fox didn't take Mann up on his offer of a sequel, which Mann had left a "hook" in the ending, Montoya escapes, will he seek revenge on Isabella? Will Crockett be punished for letting Isabella escape? will he go to Cuba to find and protect her? Will Tubs risk his caeer to help Crockett? I'm making a serious comment so hope you will view it as such. As to Colin Farrell's hair in the film, if you notice the LA opening of film he had cut his hair very short, that was Mann's idea also.
i think that this movie was just an attempt at making people appreciating the tv show more, if thats what they were going for then i guess they did it right.

wow, i didnt mind this film. you cant expect the chemistry of the series because those actors worked with each other for years. the shootouts were good and intense. yes mann is a very serious director, he doesnt add much comedy. however, i chuckled at the fake orgasm by foxx. i can name sooo many worse movies...try public enemies, superman lives or the day the earth stood still('08) those movies were hella bad. i am not saying miami vice was great but i own the dvd and watch it.

Plan 9 From Outer Space was a terrible movie, but it is enjoyable because its so bad. Miami vice was boring, had a tired plot, unrelatable characters, and brutal acting; whether or not Mann is a master formalist, the movie looked like shit because the techniques he used made it seem ridiculous with the other problems. And yes, not only do I have film training, I also have a shitload of journalism and other training.
