Thank you making this video.I'm writing a paper on Alan raping Sami because I think it started that very destructive spiral she went in. (One trauma too many.) I don't like EJ and Sami for the simple fact I wouldn't like Sami and Austin: rape is rape. It's not romance. Yes, Luke and Laura did it, but I'd never that was right either. EJ absolutely raped her by taking away any free will. He manipulated her trying to get Lucas to safety into rape by forcing her to choose herself or Lucas. Not okay.
A friend of mine, who WAS raped, clarified to me that EJ DID NOT RAPE Sami -- Sami accepted a deal. My friend feels that saying "EJ raped Sami" diminishes her actual rape. Sami could have said no & walked away. My friend could not. (EJ only used a gun to get past the checkpoint.) Sami needed EJs help to save Lucas, and accepted a sex deal.
It's still HORRIBLE -- he used psycho blackmail against a vulnerable Sami to have sex w/ him. EJ was still a detestable foul miscreant, but not a "rapist".

If we accept rape as romance, then I just don't want to think it. Like I said, I shake my head and will continue to say it is pretty pathetic.

What happened to daytime tv? Going from 16 daytime dramas to 7 today should tell you that the writers can't write well enough to keep people tuned in. We want good vs evil, romance and happy endings not violence aganst women.

He was NOT misguided and he was NOT a confused teenager. That is the difference. It also took YEARS for Sami to change and she's been redeemed now that she's with her soulmate, LUCAS.
EJ can be redeemed too, but it should take YEARS and he needs to find someone else to have a romance with. He's Jack, Sami's Kayla. EJ needs to find his Jennifer.
Even if EJ does change, he still raped Sami. That will never go away and I don't know about you, but any time I see them together, I am reminded of what happened. This is not a positive thing for EJ. They need to do what they did with Todd on OLTL; have some closure between the two characters and let the characters move on. Personally, I think it would be great if Nicole came back and hooked up with EJ.
