I'm truly starting to believe that no one is selfless with the more people I meet. There is always a reason for doing a "selfless' act. There is a video that makes makes sense to me "Selfless, or Selfish?" by JustinTheAtheist...
I know very little about buddhism and I have a question. You use the spectrum of color as a metaphor for selfishness and selflessness. My question is this, how would colors that are not in the human spectrum of light be placed in your metaphor? Would they be disreguarded simply because they are not in yours or my reality? Or do they have a place in your metaphor? Just food for thought, I'm only 17 and it's entirely probable that I interpreted what you said wrong.
Hey! Thanks for the question, well there is actually an entire light spectrum, much of which is invisible to the human eye that abides to this spectrum. Radio being the longest wave length and gamma waves being on the opposite side of the spectrum with the shortest. I'll send you a link with the images and details. Thanks for your question! :D
i think also that the route of selfish behaviour is excessive insecurity. often the most vulnerable can be the most self-interested. also, you can exist on both extremes - one informing the other - so, having a strong sense of one's own needs can cause someone to be extremely altruistic too. i think also, that some people are more physically wired to be altruistic than others. you can be so self-absorbed, that you gain a potential to be more in-tune with a collective consiousness (cont)
