survivor series anthology will be coming out november of this year...until then enjoy the best of saturday nights main event 3 disc set that just came out ...it rocks if you love old wwf..peace out
i also just got the 1999 and 2000 survivor series on dvd, amazing events. i dont have the original dvd of 2000 which would be cool but they cost a bomb these days seeing as they are deleted. Saying that i did get a near perfect version of royal rumble 2002 for 8 quid of ebay whcih is a buy and a half in my book!
I have the 1999 VHS release and the original 2000 DVD release. The 2000 Tagged Classics is exactly the same as the original DVD in terms of footage and extras.
I would look out for a October/November 2009 release for the Survivor Series Anthology. I've recently just received Survivor Series 1999 on DVD so I now own 1987-2008 on official WWF/E DVD.
I suggest you try and find the original "WWF" DVD releases of WrestleMania's 15-18 & SummerSlam's 1999-2001. these shows i mentioned in the WrestleMania & SummerSlam Anthologies are really bad(as far editing of the Attitude logo & music are concerened). the blurring is outta control on these DVD's & will probrably give you a headache(as you'll probrably end up staring at it). WrestleMania's 17 & 18 in the WrestleMania Anthology are perfect example's as the blurs are extra huge. very distracting.
lol...my comment was for AllCrownVideos as he said he said he was buying the WM Anthology & then possibly this set. i was suggesting he try & find the original WWF DVD releases of the "Attitude Era" shows in both these Anthologies as the blurring is really bad on these shows. i just wanted to give him some quick advice so he's not dissappointed when he buys these & sees how bad the blurring & edits are in WM 15-18 & SS98-SS01 in these anthologies. sorry for the mix up. nice collection btw :D...
I own every "WWF" DVD release(except for Best of WWF 2001, Austin vs. Mcmahon, Rock: Know Your Role, Austin 3:16, and Best of Survivor Series 1997-1997). I even own the the "WWE" labeled ones that have actually have the "WWF references & scratch logo uncensored(Backlash 2002, Insurrextion 2002, Judgment Day 2002, NWO: Back In Black, Triple H: The Game, Triple H: That Damn Good, Hulk Still Rules, Rock: Just Bring It 2-disc collector's edition). so i'm good there. i can't stand the WWF censorship.
i cant beleive how some of you are complaining about the packaging its great imo the only way your discs are gonna get scratched is if your violent with the discs or dont put them in the pockets properly so people dont listen to the haters and go out and buy it wwe forever.
The artwork for the packaging is fine...the design for the way the discs are held is bullsh-t!. no way is this safe for the discs. not at all!. i opened up Vol. 3 & when i took out summerslam 98' it was all scratched up. this is inexcuseable!...plain & simple!. with all the money WWE makes surely they can clear-glue some clear thin plastic trays to the cardboard as they did with the wrestlemania anthology released almost 3 years ago. this was intentional & uncalled for on WWE's part!. not cool!.
i have this anthology too i got it last tuesday its awesome the american version is different from this uk version.its the same cooler case the anthology volumes are skinnier its one of those fold over volume cases the discs are put it in pockets on the top and on the bottom has the chapter listing of that years summerslam that you get on the dvd.i suggest everyone go out and buy it its kick ass i have all three anthologies currently out right now this is awesome go get it wwe forever.
what about chris benoit? can anybody tell me if they still have all the benoit matches in SS anthology I mean he was in 5 matches( against Chris Jericho; Rob Van Dam; Eddie, Rhyno, & Tajiri; Randy Orton; & Orlando Jordan)one of them being a mainevent, it'd be lame if wwe deleted them.
I bet thesse are all edited including theme music?? Even though they're silvervision and there know for non edited WWF logos lmk all the details i might want this set but definetly not the US retail. PPV or ebay for the originals wwe is so gey when it comes to editing.
They are all edited. you can thank the great world wildlife fund for that. the UK tagged classics 2-disc sets are exempt from editing because it's technically silvervision directly releasing them not WWE. all they have to do is make sure there's no WWF logos or acronym on the packaging & they're good to go. the reason these anthologies still get edited in the UK is because they're considered new releases under the WWE brand even though there still released by silvervision. yes...editing sucks :D
Hey man, i see u have started collecting the 2008 dvd's and was just wondering ur opinion on the extras, they dont give u alot compared to say 2004 where the extras on the dvd's where packed with interviews and extra matches. No way out gives one extra and wrestlemania only has the hall of fame ceremony which i think is a big dissapointment compared to previous dvd's. Just wondering if u know of any reason why this is, u seem to have alot of expertese in this lol
Bad news for the US version of the Summerslam Anthology. the 4 dvd cases that hold the dvd's in this video(with the plastic flipper pages)are not the ones in the US edition...which is good. but...instead the cases in the US edition are thin cardboard digi-pack cases(similar to the WM anthology sets)but w/o the plastic dvd holders that are usually glued to cardboard cases themselfs. instead the dvd's are held within the thin cardboard itself(similar to the WWE anthology 3cd set). not good at all.
For people who are going buy the US version of the Summerslam Anthology make sure you check each & every disc really good because the cases will more than likey scratch the discs up due to the way there designed.
For me the artwork is'nt the problem...it's how the disc's are actually held within the cases themselves. what kind of idiots use this type of packaging?. honestly. all it does is rubs the discs against the cardboard creating scratches & possibly dents. the music industy uses this packaging alot as well. i'm glad i only paid $128 & change total for this. all 3-discs in the undertaker tombstone set stacked on top of eachother, WM 21 disc in the WM anthology set under the top lid, now this?, -_o.
$128 that is cheap thats only like £68 in uk sterling.
I know totally what you mean by the way the dvd's are held into place as the newly designed complete friends collection in the uk have a similar dvd holder section which obviously as time goes by the dvds are getting scratched which is such a shame.
I just checked & the SS anthology set that i pre-ordered a few weeks ago arrived at my post office early this morning & will be delivered to me this morning. we shall see if my discs are all scratched up & if they are i'll have to contact WWE directly about getting replacement disc(s). that would be so f-cking stupid if i had to do that, lol.
Besides all of the editing done to this set & no extras this set will be awsome. i like the summertime "cooler type" look of the collector's box. the artwork for the 4 dvd cases are great. only problem i have(just like with RR anthology set)are those stupid plastic flipper pages that hold all of the dvd's. they're stacked & when you flip them to take each dvd out chances are they'll break off after a few flips. horrible craftsmanship!. the WM anthology digi-pack type cases would've been better.
Removed songs you can expect for 98'-02'. 98': marc mero's, & oddities(not likely though since ICP rapped out to the ring during the oddities entrance)...99': official SS 99' theme song, tori's, & steve blackman's(possibly)...00': official SS 00' theme song, val venis's "rave type" theme(more than likley), steve blackman's(possibly), & undertaker's(ABA by kid rock -_-)...01': lance storm's, undertaker's(rollin by limp bizkit -_-). 02'...edge's(never gonna stop by rob zombie -_-). Sucks!!!!! -_-.
yeah i dont have to worry though since i currently own summerslams 1999 2000 2001 2002 2004 2005 and 2007 on dvd so i dont have to worry about that originals are cool but anthologies are awesome too wwe forever.
I have the original WWF/E Home Video DVD releases of summerslam's 99'-07' in their original format as well. the blurring absolutly ruins the viewing experience & are "barely" watchable. i bought this mainly for 88'-97' as i have none of those on VHS let alone on DVD in DVD quality.
The Survivor Series Anthology will most probably come out next year sometime. I haven't checked the 2001 Summerslam but I own the original DVD releases from 2001 and that isn't heavily edited to my knowledge.
Summerslam 2001 in this anthology set will more than likely give you a headache or at least take your attention away from the action at hand without a doubt. they used 2 long rectangular titantrons for the 01' setup(one for the WCW/ECW logos & one for the WF attitude era scratch logo). the whole titantron with the WF scratch logo is blurred all to hell. like 1/3-1/2 of the screen is a blurred when it picks up a shot of the tron 0_o. the blurring there is a little lighter though which is good.
If you're low on cash,
you can watch 1998-2007 SummerSlam on KingKChris account
