you don't have to see the 14moves ahead, just to spot the initial weakness, and work with it

Unless you are a super GM, I dont think any mortal player can see 14 move checkmates like this one. After the game, yes, you can find mates like this with the help of a computer program.

you're quite right but you can "smell" the pseudo-sacrifice of the queen (another one reappears immediately) and then calculate all the line. It is easier than you can conceive at the mere glance of the position.
