I'm having an issue with folders, it seems folders only appear when I need them, e.g. There's no sent folder till I send something, and no archive till I archive something, this is annoying but not unbearable, but then I found that I can't access the templates folder because to access it you have to make a template and to make a template you have to double click the folder which hasn't appeared on my Thunderbird yet... how do I show ALL smart folders.. Help

omfg!!!!!!!!!!!!! noobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats because its not a firefox addon, but firefox thinks it is because its in .xpi format. you install it for thunderbird by right clicking on the download link and selecting "save link as". just save it to the desktop so its easy, then open the addons window in thunderbird and drag the .xpi file to the addons window and it should say installed successfully and promt you to restart. hope that helps :)

About the folders:

Okay there are a few things i have to explain before i actually tell you why your folders arent showing up. Okay, so anyway, there are 2 main kinds of mail protocols, POP and IMAP. If ur using POP to retreive your mail, u will never get your folders, because POP doesnt support folders. IMAP does. In my experience, IMAP always seems to work better than POP. If u use POP, and can use imap instead, do it. If u need help then just youtube message me, i can help with some things.

Phew!! I've had a bit of trouble trying to set up the yahoo account using WebMail instead of Ypops. When you mentioned the need to check the Options in the Yahoo Add-on (in case of problems), I knew I would find a fix in there -- and voila!! Changing from Production Website to Beta Website solved the whole damn issue. Great tutorial kid!

Go to Tools Menu>Select Add-ons>Click on Y (Yahoo) Options>click on MODE tab>Select one of the radio buttons (Production Website, BETA webite or New Classic Website) in accordance with how you set up your web-based yahoo account. If you don't know what it is, try each one of them and you will get it.

For the rest, you can carefully follow this Youtube video from 5:48 to 8:35 - he shows all the settings. Additionally, when you install an add-on it's not like Firefox -- you manually have to browse for the add-on to install.

For the negative vibes thing, then you need to go into account settings and change your Outgoing Server(STMP) to what you set it as. If this doesn't work, then your password is wrong.

I went through the tutorial and kept getting denied access to my Yahoo account. Kept getting kicked out of the Yahoo WebMail app after clicking on domains. Eventually just tried logging into Yahoo account, failed to do so, closed Thunderbird 2, and restarted Thunderbird 2. Worked just fine after that. Guess crashing the Yahoo WebMail app killed the changes that I made. Hope this helps!
