  • Sorry I flagged it inappropriate by accident :( but that foal couldn't be any cuter!!!!

  • Also @tleesweets you should have enough notice of the impending foaling to put together a basic first aid kit which includes gloves or an antiseptic handwash. You could do that months in advance.

As for the bedding, shavings and sawdust can cause respiratory/eye infections to the mare who is lying in it and the foal born into it.

Many of us "country ppl" (lol) in the UK now are changing to shredded card Eco bedding on rubber matting. EcoBed is environmentally friendly, decomposes quickly, absor

  • Don't pick on this 13yo girl.

I would say you should wear gloved for hygiene reasons, after all you coulda been picking ya nose or scratching ya ass then handling foal.

And b4u start on me, I'm a country girl in the UK not some hillbilly who picks on children who ask a simple question. You continued to bully her which is out of order.

  • Little spaghetti legs :)

  • so cute!

  • My mare is at osu right now, Shes due in 3 weeks and we had her in the foaling stall with straw. Silly girl ate ALL the straw and got a impaction. Luckily, her and the foal are going to be fine. Probably not but maybe this horse has a history of eating straw bedding. I know that shavings are not good for the foal. Any suggestions on other kinds of bedding to use?

  • @morgangoolsby I used hay over top my shaveings.Worked fine for both my foals we had deleverd.

  • Use gloves woman!

  • @Lilmissrockchick24 real woman dont need gloves, aint no mamby pamby whimps

  • @tleesweets Yeah you just want all that blood and stuff on your hands.

  • @Lilmissrockchick24 Cause we are real hard working woman, not a bunch oh high snobby people, we do things the real way and we are not afraid to get dirty, cause with out us real hard working woman and men, you high priced fakes wouldnt have nothing in the world, the world runs on hard workers not whimps!!!

  • @tleesweets I never intented you were whimps. And you think i'm a high priced fake! I'm 13 ffs! I don't have a job. So don't go slagging people off like that cos they do things differently and not the old back-then know as normal way. People work just as hard. But also do different things which make them not do so much physical stuff sometimes. E.g. someone in an office or a school would work hard. So don't create an argument over this. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

  • @Lilmissrockchick24 Yes every one has there own opinion, but you also have to see that we are country poeple, they we dont have to wear gloves to do things. look at it this way, if a family member of yours got shot or hurt and was bleeding are you going to take the time to find some gloves or are you just going to rush right in and help because they need the help now. we country people dont care about blood, mud, dirt or any of that stuff, because at the end of the day there is always a shower.

  • @tleesweets I see the point about the shower. And know ofcourse not! I'd phone for an ambulance. If they were bleed I'd try find something to stop it immediatly. If there was nothing it would be my hand. But if they were seriously hurt. There wouldn't be much I could do.

  • wouldn't use sawdust...maybe just a little under some straw but its going to irritate the foal.

  • they should put the sawdust on the bottom to soak up fluids and hay on top for a soft bedding that doesn't stick to the foal

  • What I did was cover the stall in hay.Shaveings underneath. The vet too.

  • i never have problems with kiln dried shavings that arent too dusty ..i just toss some nice fresh hay on top for birthing..keeps the floor from being too slippery

  • Aww..there is just something about baby horses that makes them so precious!

  • your not supose to bed with wood chip when they foal it can cause problems for the foal.

  • Cute

  • What a beautiful thing and that colt... so leggy! lol Now this is sweet.

  • hi baby you is sunnder

  • what a beautiful mother and baby.

  • You shouldnt use fine shavings like that when your horse is giving birth. The Savings and be taken in by the baby through mouth or nose and could chock to death. Also it sticks to them so bad when there wet and it irritates them

  • @MsComanche1 this is sooo true , it is bad idea all around to use chips

  • ME TO BREYERPEEP!!! im like a foaling in WINTER!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!

  • In the icon I thought it was in Snow XD

  • seeing a foal be born is a beautiful thing! i loved watching my mare give birth to country gurl. :)

  • cute foal :)

  • I totally agree, straw and if you use bedding, make it the really big particles, not that bedding these people used. Straw is preferred..baby could get in passages, choke on it, get it in eyes, and does carry disease easier!

  • Why is this marked as spam? Does YouTube support HORSE SLAUGHTER!?

  • very buetiful baby!

  • baby's colour is like mama

  • wanting new friends

lovin this video!! leave me a comment M0

  • what a beautiful colt!! congrats

  • wats the blue thing?

  • it holds her tail together so ir doesent get in the way, kinda like a ponytail

  • lol!!! A PONYTAIL!!

  • what is yhuur mare called??? such cute colts!!!!!

  • Next time you might want to use straw or hay for the flooring of your stall. The shavings care result in the foal having a lot of respiratory illnesses, not to mention the fact that it holds bacteria better than straw or hay. Cute little foal, though!

  • how is he now pretty 2 yr old i bet

  • the foal was soo cute lol congrats

  • his gorgeous!

  • yaya i wanna ride on him

  • thats a beautiful colt my mare just became pregnant so it will be a while

  • um kinda ew but aww ;)

  • omg, it looks so tiny in comparison, so handsom

  • gorgeous colt! My mare will be having her filly so soon! Im really excited!! =)

  • who cares at this point if they used straw, sawdust, or woolly baby blankets. the baby's obviously fine, so quit fussing.

    gorgeous baby, congratulations!

  • u can use saw Dust!!!!

  • that is not true

  • The reason that sawdust is a bad choice for parturition is that the foal has many mucus membranes that the sawdust gets into. This wouldn't be a risk if it weren't for that saw dust carries a lot of bacteria/diseases/is not sanitary. With the weak immune system of a new born foal who hasn't had any colostrum yet, it is a good idea to use clean straw. You guys who just insulted this person are very immature and you need to get some manners.

  • @msityhorse2001 Yeah i agree i used straw when my mare had her foal

  • @msityhorse2001 sawdust soaks up the fluid but i think they should have put hay on top

  • its vajayjay not va jaja dumb crack

and aww how swwet but get a vid camera plz

  • the babys dont come out the ass u retard they come out the va ja ja

  • ay ay ay verry nice:))))

  • oh baby, welcome to the real world and real life:))

    so cute!

  • Arnt they cute. I work on a stud and had to help them mare give birth> its a weird feeling knowing your helping bring a new life into this world

  • good job a proper birth!

  • what a beautifull baby, ohhh God bless baby and mommy,my prays for the baby to live a long healthy life.

  • Aww!, Adorable horse,What breed? It looks like a TB or QH, IDK thought hard to tell from pictures. I raise, QH's, Paints, TB's, Appaloosas, and am breeding my mare to a friesian so were going to be bringing some freisian bloodline in =D Congrats on the new colt :)

  • how cute and why all the nagitive all the horse births I watched on this people helped the horse deliver it seems normal to help the horse to me

  • Ive worked at a breeding farm for 2 yearsand every foal someone is present for we help, mares often get tired easily and need the help. Then we imprint them, and drying the foal is great! It gets the circulation flowing and helps them to move easier. Great job foaling that mare, the colt looks like a real winner!

  • alot of people put a wrap around their horses tail for birth so that the tail doesnt get in the way, picture having long hair and trying to bend over but your hair is in the way so you cant see anything, here it is more easy ( i know bad analogy)

  • Well, her tail is in a wrap so that none of her tail hairs get in the way of the baby ect. Why it is blue, i dont know. It was probablly just the color there.

  • the colt's getting close to being a yearling now... look at the video added date.

  • Part of the babies begining of life is the physicall labor it must use in the birthing. The use of its muscles contracting and filling with blood are all happening during the birthing. It's like cracking an egg for a hatching chick, you just don't do it.

  • Keep your dam hands off!

Leave the birthing alone unless there is a problem........

  • I love when people object to interference. Let me ask you: why?

  • You pull when the mare isn't ready

You pull when something internally is not in postion yet.

You pull causing a tear or breaking a bone.

    Sanitary reasons.

    On and on.

  • The biggest problem is it is stressfull on the mare.

If you see the hoof and head in the proper position, leave them alone. You shouldn't even be in the stall. Your presence put a pressure on that mare to get it done and it is not something that should be rushed.

I suppose you believe in physicall dominance when training also?

  • um kinda ew but aww ;)

  • disgusting

  • Oh, cool.

  • awsum

  • so cute.

  • Awwwwwwwwww

  • how lovely
