Voice actors in dubs don't get paid a lot of money. I read Joshua retired from dubbing because he couldn't make enough money to have it worth his while. These hypnosis gigs pay better. As with numerous Joshua Seth admirers, I loved Tai on Digimon.

Actually, in an interview with Joshua, he said that the reason he retired from anime voice overs is that he was burned out.

He was pretty much the top guy in VA at the time, and was getting so much work, so much driving from studio to studio, he got tired of it finally and retired to focus on his hypnosis.

I mean, if Joshua Seth wasn't making enough money doing voice acting, I'm sure no one else would be able to even live off it.

I would say it was both. When I sent him an e-mail the reason he retired was due to the awful dubbing pay, he e-mailed me back and did acknowledge about.

Yea the first time I heard his voice was definately in Digimon as Tai. The other day i heard him in sorta silly comedy "More Ants in the Pants" or something like that. It felt quite weird to hear voice of my fav childhood character in that sort of film. Other than that the vid is just great. I wish I was there

OK, to clear up the confusion...

yes, I'm the same guy who voiced "Tai" on Digimon, "Tetuso" in Akira, and dozens of others. I just prefer live shows to soundbooths right now :-)
