I'm canadian and we have legalized gay marriage up here and...well nothing has changed. No storms (lolz) no havoc, people still attend church the same, they go to work each day, and you see no more gays walking around holding hands than usual.

My implication of denying right is not pointed at religious figures, understandably they want to maintain the status quo of practicing christianity.

However I DO point it at your political leaders. This is obviously segregation and denying gays the rights heterosexuals are allowed. Which is illegal is it not? What about denying blacks from school?

@bigjohnowens My point is that it shouldn't even be allowed to come to a vote. This is a right established in the American Constitution gurantees equal rights and liberties to the members of all the citizens it governs doesn't it?

No other citizens should be allowed to determine the freedoms of others, not by a long shot. That is grossly corrupt and unfair in my eyes.

Section. 1 of the 14th amendment say nothing about Marriage. There is nothing about Marriage in the Bill of Rights or any of the amendments. The 10th amendment does say " The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Marriage in America is a State issue and not a Federal one regardless of where you stand on the issue. However you still have not answered my question.
