As soon as I become 18 i'm moving to the UK or Canada because they have advanced enough to overlook gay or strait and focus on people for what they do not how they do it (not a pun!) they are true humans! Thanks from american~skye
@Brendandugan responds to me on a page 2 days ago & says this to me.....
"JSA, perhaps in 1975, the word "faggot" was offensive towards gays. Live in the now kiddo. It is used in the same context as "loser". Gay people have worked hard to advance themselves in society and do not need some nitwit like yourself setting them back. Now, stick to your non-thinking job and change someones transmission fluid you buffoon. Let the educated handle everything else."
it's weird, here in belgium gays are allowed to get married, and still there are no cracks in the ground, homosexual terrorists have NOT taken over the country in order to destroy the world, there are no ghouls and dead people rising from the grave to kill us all; I guess gays are pretty harmless when they marry
I wonder how much actual good would come of using the funds gathered in this hate campaign to help people in need? What an odd, faggy suggestion THAT is, right!?!?
WTF? I'm straigh, and I cannot for the life of me find anything scary about gay people or the fact that they wanna get married. Am I missing something?
I'm canadian and we have legalized gay marriage up here and...well nothing has changed. No storms (lolz) no havoc, people still attend church the same, they go to work each day, and you see no more gays walking around holding hands than usual.
Its not a big fucking deal. There are so many smart Americans being held back by the retarded Americans. I wish you guys luck.
@Riles07 If one, because of ones sincerely held moral beliefs, whether it be Jew, Muslim, Christian, Catholic, opposes the idea of same-sex marriage in Canada, is that considered hate?
@Riles07 Part 2: The question was not rhetorical. Nor was it theoretical. Fr. Alphonse de Valk, a Basilian priest and pro-life activist known throughout Canada for his orthodoxy, is currently being investigated by the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) — a quasi-judicial investigative body with the power of the Canadian government behind it.
@Riles07 Part 3 The CHRC is using section 13 of Canadas Human Rights Act to investigate the priest. This is a section under which no defendant has ever won once the allegation has gone to tribunal.
It is certainly not hate for one to disagree with the practices of another, no matter how bizarre they may appear, so long as those practices do not harm others to such a reasonable extent as can be prescribed and punishable by law. (ie, people often hate murderers and rapists)
Depriving members of the citizenry of the rights they are guaranteed at birth set out by a governing constitution is supposed to be illegal.Homosexuals excecise their freedom of association to the suffering of nobody.
@Riles07 No. My reply has nothing to do with the practice of Gay marriage should be legal or not. Your statement was that nothing had changed since. Has arresting priest for preaching on their beliefs been a long standing Canadian practice?
@bigjohnowens well certainly it hasn't. There is nothing more important in both of our countries than the freedom of speech and expression.
My implication of denying right is not pointed at religious figures, understandably they want to maintain the status quo of practicing christianity.
However I DO point it at your political leaders. This is obviously segregation and denying gays the rights heterosexuals are allowed. Which is illegal is it not? What about denying blacks from school?
@bigjohnowens My point is that it shouldn't even be allowed to come to a vote. This is a right established in the American Constitution gurantees equal rights and liberties to the members of all the citizens it governs doesn't it?
No other citizens should be allowed to determine the freedoms of others, not by a long shot. That is grossly corrupt and unfair in my eyes.
Section. 1 of the 14th amendment say nothing about Marriage. There is nothing about Marriage in the Bill of Rights or any of the amendments. The 10th amendment does say " The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Marriage in America is a State issue and not a Federal one regardless of where you stand on the issue. However you still have not answered my question.
Sorry we each have a few comments on this thread. What was your question again?
I am not trying to argue with you; I'm proud to live next to the U.S. I'm just trying to understand. We have different laws and regulations distributed federally and provincially up here. I forgot your constiution and bill of rights distributes powers differently.
Part one: If one, because of ones sincerely held moral beliefs, whether it be Jew, Muslim, Christian, Catholic, opposes the idea of same-sex marriage in Canada, is that considered hate?
@bigjohnowens no not unless you think that all gay people that get married should be dragged out into the street and shoot. If you are against it because some book says so then fine, but if you actually start causing harm to people because of it then it would be considered hate up here. Now you may be called a bigot or homophobic but unless you want to cause harm to people because of who they are its not hate. gay marriage has been legal in Canada for at least 6 years.
Part 2 The question was not rhetorical.
@bigjohnowens I don't know the details of what this man said, all the articles I can find are theist propaganda so I can't believe a word they say. I know its propaganda because they talk about other things like the Knights of Columbia getting fined $1000 for not renting there hall out to a lesbian wedding, but what they fail to report was the the hall was not a church but a community center. so some how I don't think I am getting the whole story form these religious websites.
Being against gay marriage means being against contractual freedom. Why does a contract have to be between one man and one woman? Are you conservatives communist? Why do you conservatives hate capitalism? Why do you hate freedom? Why do you hate America?
i'm not using a race card now and i'm black and i agree that the issue of gay marrige is similiar to the issues we black people had to face just a little bit different though but thats off topic my point is all we want to do is marry the one we love thats it oh and we want to donate blood
i cant take you seriously because your a women and on msnbc
