I've been pondering this for awhile now, so I might as well ask you. I realize you're not a licensed therapist, psychologist... whatever. Just asking your opinion.
I'm in no way attracted to other men, but I can usually tell if they're good looking or "hot" from a woman's/gay person's perspective... Does that make any sense, or do you think I'm subconsciously on both teams? (bi)
You can tell whether other men are attractive? Doesn't really mean anything. Don't worry. Many guys are like that. It doesn't mean you're gay. It only means that you are more perceptive and/or sensitive.
You should only start worrying if you start feeling actual attraction to other males (an uncontrollable urge to be with or touch/kiss a guy you find attractive, sexual fantasies focused on guys, etc.)

While I do agree that there are stereotypes surrounding the gay community, I don't think that the majority of "flambouyant" gays are necessarily conforming to a stereotype. Honestly, being gay usually leads to femininity in men, so as far as stereotypes go, the "effeminate" stereotype isn't necessarily inaccurate.
I did a little background research about the pride movement which is where I believe a lot of gay stereotyping gets its strength within gay culture. We did two things when the pride movement began. First we created a safe place to express ourselves, and then we created a barrier that would keep the bigoted people out. That barrier was the sticking point, because we intentionally built it out of their stereotypes. We are stronger than that now. We have a voice. Time to let the barrier down.

I can work on my car and fix my lawnmower. My best friend is a straight married man with kids. I am their godfather. I have no "girlfriends". I do not want to do every guy out there. I want a loving relationship with one guy, that's it. My house is not the tidiest, my room is a mess.

While I do agree that there are stereotypes surrounding the gay community, I don't think that the majority of "flambouyant" gays are necessarily conforming to a stereotype. Honestly, being gay usually leads to femininity in men, so as far as stereotypes go, the "effeminate" stereotype isn't necessarily inaccurate.

I did a little background research about the pride movement which is where I believe a lot of gay stereotyping gets its strength within gay culture. We did two things when the pride movement began. First we created a safe place to express ourselves, and then we created a barrier that would keep the bigoted people out. That barrier was the sticking point, because we intentionally built it out of their stereotypes. We are stronger than that now. We have a voice. Time to let the barrier down.

I completely agree with this and I have to say thank you because this video makes me feel better about myself. I am an out lesbian in a small town where I go to college and I just don't seem to fit in with the gay community here. It is like they have rules that if you want to be proud of being gay you have to be in their club, and I am not. So this video has helped me greatly tonight and for that I would like to thank you.

I am a gay male that you describe. I am very masculine, I like sports (though don't play any), I hate shopping, no nothing about celebrities or fashion. I wear sweats and runners. I can work on my car and fix my lawnmower. My best friend is a straight married man with kids. I am their godfather. I have no "girlfriends". I do not want to do every guy out there. Y'know, this video is telling me one thing I have been trying to convince people for months since coming out... some websites give you instructions on "how to be gay" and to be honest it just annoys me... I'm gay and somewhat feminine, but i still hate shopping, fashion, and quite a few other girly things. What I use to convince this to people (especially female friends) is use the tomboy analogy that not all girls are girly, so not all gays are girly. stupid stereotypes...
