  • he's not whining, he's saying that he loved her and lost her but because of her, he's a stronger person, because of her, he understands how to love and how to be strong when it doesn't.

  • Speaking of love.... Yep this one brings back memories. But she's gone.

  • love oleander, cant wait for some new shit!

  • dude, i met them in a bar in Hawaii in 99.. played pool with the drummer. they seemed like pretty good guys. i dig this song

  • this song will always make me think of my first and deepest love.

  • I love Candlebox. I also love this and several other songs by Oleander. They're both in my favorite 90's rock list and I lived in Seattle during the "movement" 'Nuff said.

  • LOLWUT

  • Haha. Oleander!!! I saw them in my hometown and they were hilarious. They seem very down to earth. The drummer tried throwing a guitar pick at me but I didn't catch it. Their roadie was creepy as hell, though but at least he got me some guitar picks. Lol.

  • Oleander, LIT, Splender, FUEL, etc...What great times in the late 90's!!!!

  • damn skippy.

  • there from sacramento! I havent heard this song in a long time!

  • This may be a bit late to reply, but to

rdinkins5060. Unfortunately you are right about the mainstream, it is horrible, most of the time mainstream music is horrible. These days there are more bands then ever, the ability to get your music out is easier than ever before. You just have to search a bit, there is plenty of amazing music out there for anyone.

  • i walk alone too

  • Someone considers Bush, Nirvana, and Tool variety? Laughable. Same genre, with their own tweak on the same sound. Every generation and style is like that.

  • I guess I did word that sentence wrong. Your right smae genre, not sure about tool though they kind of always had their own sound going for them. Either way it was great music and in my mind better than most stuff coming out now days.

  • fuck yeah.

  • Wow I wish we were still in the 90's, Such a great music Scene!

  • Every generation seems to say that about their time. I bet you were in your early 20's. Right? I think it is more the time of your life than the actual music. Wonder what this generation is going to have to talk about. Britney Spears? Jessica Simpson? UGH!

  • Actually I'm 16, I was raised In the 90's .

Love them for to be extacly , i mean the early early 2000's had some okay music.

About 2003 had some great music scenes rising like seether and fuel, but there no oleander.=]

  • I grew up to bands like Oleander, Bush, NIN, Blind Melon, Nirvana, Tool...all that stuff. It was a great variety of music then.

Just the other day my wife and I were at the store when some teens walked by my jeep and seen the NIN sitcker and one said "what the hell is NIN?" and they didnt know......they dont know what they are missing not just them but most of the 90's were just great. Your right now all they have is Spears, Simpson, or rap...

  • no shit wish it was like that now

  • I second that motion.

  • I agree with you 100%.

  • My mother used to be friends with the singer before he was famous,in fact i think before i was even born! hahahaha

  • download mp3rocket.its free and you can download just about anything.

  • I bought it on Amazon. you can still find it there

  • this was one of my favorite bands...it's tragic that it WAS one of my favorite bands...shouldn't there be some petition somewhere demanding they reorganize?

  • So far there hasn't been any official announcement, but apparently they have gotten back together and are working on a new album. I can't wait to hear what they come up with. I always loved everything this band has done.

  • great voice! better song

  • Um, why would you post something like that?

  • Haha, what'd the person say when they saw you jamming out on the banjo string?

  • Dude why in the HELL were you smackin' it to this song?! HOW DOES ONE FIND THE MOTIVATION TO SMACK IT TO A SONG LIKE THIS?!?!

  • I have been in love with this song for YEARS. I finally looked up the video on here and this is what came up... I am very disappointed with the video, but I still adore the song.

  • Great song :)

  • Fucking underrated band ! They didn't swan on another planet like Tool or The Mars Volta, neither did crazy virtuoso shred stuff like Dream Theater, but they've created very touching music full of pure emotion and straigt, very decent riff work ! And trust me, just alone that makes them outstanding !

  • great song, but horrible video...especially the girl's dancing

  • Omg i have actually found this song! i heard it on american pie 1 when stifler opens the door to the band geeks yay!!!! it took me years to find lol

  • same took me about 4 yrz and i finaly found it :p

  • SHIT!!!!!!!!! ME TOO LOL

  • They disbanded a few years ago, hence not hearing anything more from them. They have 4 studio albums, all are good

  • This came out in late '99. I was 20. I owned the cd. I took it to the cd exchange because there were only 2 songs I really liked. Haven't heard of them since. :)

  • If you ever had a cd from them you would never call them one hit wonders... The cd this song is on the whole cd is good.Give it a try, if you can find it!!!

  • Wow great song ,, never heard of them over ere in Ireland ... R they big in America , have they many albums out ???

  • Unfortunately, they are kinda one-hit wonders here...

  • Ah, such bullshit. You obviously never heard an album of them. I'm not a fan boy, but really all of their albums are full of awesome songs and they definitively had a high recall value without making restricted music.

  • OLEANDER ROCK!

  • luv it man......!!!!yeah

  • i found a great new rock band. they are called black saints cartel. search them on here and check out the video "bitterness bleeds" its been a while since i have heard great music...check it out

  • I due walk alone!!! I love this song, 8 years of a broken heart for a women I can't have. Everything I ever wanted was to be a father and a husband and that's been destroyed. Only my faith in God has helped me but i feel cheated in this life knowing I due walk alone!!!

  • I think you're full of shit because your tag is an numerologically encrypted (not very well). Also, you mispelled a simple 2-letter verb. Also, quit being a pussy.

  • Beautiful song...

  • watch (very sad Iraq USA army dedication video) please cry because this happens to many familys, i personally am not against war, but i hate the deaths

  • P.S. song rox

  • Dude shut up ohyah--6 it's a MV

  • And again, also lastly, I appreciate your service, aswell as many so, pay attension to the people that do care instead of the ones that dont.

  • I'm not a "gangster from the hood" okay, i am a person that deserves atleast some kind of instinct respec from Marines, you think i would actually spit on servicemen HELL NO im in JROTC and the young marines, that atleast deserves something i wouldnt even think of that crap.

  • I thought Marines were tought to treat public with courtasy? not to drop 'bad words' on us for stating a true fact, I wasn't questioning anything, i was making a statement. I have all the respect in the world for the Corps, they die so we dont have too, how could you NOT respect that? yes, some people don't but they can screw themselves, and personally I'd PT them for hours untill they understood what it ment to have someone die for you. do NOT reply to this comment discussion over.

  • first of all fuck you for questioning my service. I was in from 97 to 2005. Not only was i a MARINE, i was in Recon. 4th Platoon, Alpha Co., 2nd Recon Battalion. Are you a marine asshole? If not, go fuck yourself tough guy. I served and have the fucking scars to prove it. And no we were not helping anyone, all the assholes from bothsides shot at us!

  • irish texan did u help bosnia? if u didnt fuck u and all of ur fucking family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was in the Marines in '99 and coming back from 6 months in Bosnia when I first heard this song on the plane. It was like breath of fresh air from all the stuff I had seen and done. The album, February Son, was even better. I miss bands like this. Music freaking sucks now, plain and simple.

  • If you were not a Marine, you are CALLING yourself one, that is GREAT disrespect to the Corps, any MArine that finds that out will give you the same reaction as pooyomonkeyoh.

  • Were you a Marine? If not, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Who the fuck are you to question this Marine?

  • Semper Fi irishtexan. What is this, 1968? These two fucks will be at the airport spitting at service members. Fuck 'em. Disrespectful pussies.

  • best song ever imo. some of my other oleander favs are Halo, Why I'm Here, Stupid, Tightrope.. just to name a few. I would recommend all of their songs.

  • Halo is one of the best songs ever.

  • I saw these guys open up for Fuel and 3 Doors Down years ago. Heard them on Real World tonight and made me reminisce.

  • OMG! I saw them open for them too. I was like 14 and now I'm 21 and still love all 3 of them!

  • ...fuck....now I feel old.

  • haven't heard this song in really long.. i love it

  • Magnolia Thunderfinger was way better, back when these two bands were regulars on the Sacramento club scene.

  • it does not sound like that duh

  • this is hands down my favorite song

  • one of my favorite songs

  • Lead singer sounds great, haven't heard this song in about 10 years.

  • preety true tho ther still are good other bands who need more respect u knoe wwat i mean

  • u are sooo right, i mean most of these little bands are o.k., but Oleander is just amazing, and I think that they should be more recognized than they are for their awesome performances!!

  • 'Real talent'? They're good but they're not amazing. I agree, I'd rather listen to this than most of the losers today who pull record contracts out of cereal boxes.

  • amen

  • OK so where are they from? cause i had heard they were from a small town in alabama called oleander. Somebody give me the facts lol

  • they are actually from sacramento california, the lead singer thomas floweres has a new band out of cali called "black summer crush", the name oleander actually comes from a poisonous flower

  • This is my favorite Oleander song. It gives me such a weird, but happy, feeling every time I listen to it. It brings me back to 1998-1999 again. This should've been a bigger hit than 'Why I'm Here'

  • seen these guys two times, and they kick ass live great band would love to see them again

  • i listened to these guys b4 they made it big,,,shit back in the days, workin closing nites at burger king, its all we listened to

  • well when i first seen them that was the first time i heard them, my dad really liked them better than collective soul, and.. said they put on a better performance and went and got there cd, i didn't really start listening to that february son.. till now.. well i was big on why im here and this song.. but now i like alot of that album

  • Hell yeah! The Florida underground scene for some odd reason is very disregarded and yet they turn out kick ass stuff like Oleander. What a disapiontment. Oh well, at least they have people like us!

  • you're a jackass, Oleander is from Sacramento, ca

  • YES! finally found this song.. loved it in American Pie

  • Very Underrated. Awesome Band!
